The Possibility of Power’s Return in Chainsaw Man Comes with a Heavy Cost

Among the most cherished figures in Tatsuji Fujimoto’s Chainsaw Man universe is Power, often referred to as the Blood Fiend. As a significant supporting character in the manga’s initial 97 chapters, her absence has been profoundly felt since her last appearance in chapter 91.

This absence has ignited a flurry of fan theories within the Chainsaw Man community, as enthusiasts eagerly delve into potential scenarios for her comeback. Compounding this curiosity is the contract established with Denji in chapter 91, which outlines the terms for their eventual reunion involving the new Blood Devil.

Unfortunately, as the narrative of the Academy Saga unfolds, previous plotlines from Part 1 continue to fade into the background, leading many fans to lose hope for her swift return. However, a specific storyline might pave the way for Power’s revival, albeit at the significant cost of drastically altering the overarching conclusion of Chainsaw Man Part 2.

Power’s Possible Return and the Death Devil’s Emergence

The narrative of Chainsaw Man clearly draws inspiration from the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse as mentioned in the Bible. Consequently, numerous fan theories have emerged surrounding the Four Horsemen Devils based on theological references. Within the Academy Saga, the Death Devil serves as the principal antagonist, spurring an array of theories based on biblical texts.

One particular theory proposes that upon the Death Devil’s arrival on Earth, there will be a simultaneous influx of Devils from Hell, following her to the human realm. This notion is inferred from Revelations 6:8, which depicts the rider named Death with “Hell following with him.” Advocates of this theory believe that, true to the scripture, the Death Devil’s entrance will herald a host of Hell’s Devils coming forth.

This scenario could potentially facilitate Power’s return, given that her demise in Chainsaw Man Part 1 implies that the Blood Devil might have reincarnated in Hell for its subsequent existence. This would naturally enable Denji to honor his pact with Power by confronting the Death Devil and reuniting with the Blood Devil. Additionally, Denji could find further motivation to battle the Death Devil if it turns out that the Blood Devil is under her influence.

However, the cost of this reunion could be catastrophic for humanity, potentially leading to its annihilation due to the Death Devil’s emergence, ushering in an anticipated Age of Devils. Outside of her contract with Denji established in Part 1, there have been no significant indicators in the manga suggesting her imminent comeback. Nevertheless, fans hold onto the hope that Denji’s cherished sister-figure will eventually reappear.
