It has previously been mentioned that Tanjiro had seen the Blue Spider Lily. Additionally, it is important to consider that Kie Kamado, the mother of Tanjiro and Nezuko, was also aware of the Blue Spider Lily. It is highly likely that she even incorporated the flower into her cooking.
A prevalent fan theory proposes that Kie utilized Blue Spider Lily in medicinal mixtures and soups that aided her family’s recovery from illnesses. This could clarify the reason for Nezuko Kamado’s ability to withstand sunlight. In its initial stages, the theory may have seemed weak due to the abundance of speculation that formed its basis.
By examining Tanjiro’s accomplishments in the manga series, we can further strengthen this theory. Among the current generation of demon hunters, he is the sole practitioner of the Breath of the Sun. Not only did he successfully recall and utilize these techniques, but he also mastered them.
By accessing his ancestor’s memories, he was able to master 12 out of 13 forms on his own. His strong affinity for the Sun Breathing style may have been a subtle hint from the author, revealing that the Kamado family had knowledge of the Blue Spider Lily.
