The filming start date for Ahsoka Season 2 has been announced, and there are hints that the show may be connected to The Mandalorian.
Following the shocking cliffhanger of Star Wars: Ahsoka, fans have been eagerly anticipating what will happen next. The finale saw Ahsoka and Sabine stranded on Peridiea, after successfully aiding their long-lost comrade Ezra Bridger in escaping home. Their mission was to warn the Republic of Thrawn’s impending return.
After Natasha Liu Bordizzo, the actor who plays Sabine, confirmed during a DragonCon panel that filming for Ahsoka Season 2 would begin in Summer 2025, we now have a better understanding of its expected release.
Considering the long time gap and the potential delay, Ahsoka Season 2 is expected to air approximately three years after the Season 1 finale. Despite the wait, this timeline may offer insight into the overall narrative of Star Wars and how it will unfold.

If filming takes place in the Summer of 2025, the show could potentially be broadcasted in Summer 2026, coinciding with the release of the next major Star Wars movie, The Mandalorian & Grogu. Since Star Wars: Ahsoka is essentially a spin-off of The Mandalorian, it would be logical for the show and film to have some connection to each other.
If this were to happen, it would mark a new milestone for the Star Wars franchise and showcase a potential synergy similar to that of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Additionally, it could serve as a trial run for future projects that aim to connect different storylines together.
Despite Ahsoka’s distant release date, there is still more Star Wars content to look forward to. In 2024, director Jon Watts, known for Spider-Man: No Way Home, will bring us Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, an all-ages adventure set in the Star Wars universe.
In the upcoming year of 2025, viewers can expect the much-awaited Season 2 of Andor, which will serve as a link between Season 1 and Rogue One. This installment will reveal the events that led up to Andor’s involvement in the mission to steal the Death Star plans.
