On Monday, July 15, 2024, Pony Canyon released a visual announcing that The Quintessential Quintuplets: Honeymoon Arc anime would be hitting Japanese theatres on September 20, 2024. It will have a limited three-week run before its TV broadcast, but the exact broadcast date has not been revealed by the staff.

The Honeymoon Arc of The Quintessential Quintuplets is a unique anime project overseen by the mangaka, Negi Haruba. It was revealed during the series’ fifth anniversary event at Yokohama Arena on April 28, 2024. The staff has stated that the anime will revolve around Futaro Uesugi and the quintuplets’ romantic getaway to Hawaii.

On Monday, July 15, 2024, the official staff, including Pony Canyon, revealed that The Quintessential Quintuplets: Honeymoon Arc anime, based on Negi Haruba’s original concept, will have a theatrical release in Japan beginning on September 20, 2024, and will run for three weeks. Following its theatrical run, the anime will also be broadcast on local TV channels.

Despite not providing specific details, the staff did reveal a teaser visual for The Quintessential Quintuplets: Honeymoon arc on the official website and X account for the series. The illustration features the five Nakano sisters enjoying a lovely time in Hawaii, dressed in vibrant Muumuus.

Furthermore, the staff announced the theme songs for the series. The Nakano sisters, Yotsuba (VA: Ayane Sakura), Miku (VA: Miku Ito), Nino (VA: Ayana Taketatsu), Itsuki (VA: Inori Minase), and Ichika (VA: Kana Hanazawa), will be performing the opening theme, titled “Gotobun no Egao”or “Quintuplets Smile”, and the ending theme, “Memories”.

Information about the primary crew of the show has also been revealed. Masato Jinbo, known for directing The Quintessential Quintuplets: The Movie, will be returning to helm the original anime at Bibury Animation Studios.

Masato-san collaborates with Negi Haruba as the series script writers. Along with them, Masato Katsumata resumes his role as the character designer for the franchise. The music composition team includes Natsumi Tabuchi, Miki Sakurai, and Hanae Nakamura, while Mutsumi Takemiya serves as the editor for the project.

Inspired by Negi Haruba’s initial idea, The Quintessential Quintuplets: Honeymoon arc continues the story of Futaro Uesagi and the Nakano sisters as they embark on a trip to Hawaii, which surprisingly becomes their honeymoon destination.

Despite the smooth preparations for their trip, an unexpected event in Hawaii leads to trouble for them. This puts Futaro in charge of finding a solution to the chaos. The anime will likely highlight the strong bond between Futaro and the Nakano sisters, while also adding an element of mystery.
