Leveling up weapons in Black Ops 6 has become a considerably slower process. This is the reason why you’re finding it challenging to enhance weapons like the XM4 and Jackal.
In the Call of Duty franchise, weapon leveling is a vital component. Players accumulate weapon XP to unlock crucial attachments that provide significant advantages during gameplay.
In previous titles, players received weapon XP for achieving kills and completing in-game objectives, such as capturing flags or securing designated areas, leading to faster progression, especially for those who played as a team.
However, in Black Ops 6, weapon XP from completing objectives has been removed. Now, the only method to increase your weapon levels is by securing kills.
Leveling up weaponry isn’t an instant task.
This alteration has significantly impacted players, many of whom are eager for quicker leveling experiences.
Many shared their frustrations on Reddit, particularly in a thread aptly named “Weapon leveling is slow as hell.”
One player voiced their struggle, stating, “Man, I’ve been trying to complete the gold challenge for the second launcher for two days now, and I can go over 10 games without anyone calling in something I can actually hit with it.”
Others shared their disappointment with high-level attachments that demand extensive hours of grinding, with one user commenting, “One of the attachments I want to experiment with on an LMG is stuck at level 46: (.”
Another gamer elaborated on the situation, saying, “The main reason leveling weapons takes forever is because XP from objectives doesn’t contribute to weapon level. Only kills matter. I’ve achieved gold in zombies and nearly multiplayer gold on some guns, but they’re still far from max level. That shouldn’t happen.”
As players begin to adapt to the weapon leveling system in Black Ops 6 that focuses on kills, opinions within the community remain divided.
Some players have embraced the grind, while others are pushing for a shift back to a system that rewards objective-based progression. For now, the most reliable way to progress is to accumulate as many kills as you can. Additionally, working through challenges can help unlock more camouflage options.
