The Rise of LoL’s Easiest Champion in the Best Region

Despite being known as the easiest champion in League of Legends, Garen has recently been selected and utilized by a top professional team in Korea, widely regarded as one of the strongest regions in the world.

League of Legends provides a diverse range of play styles and gameplay options, which are determined by the champion selected at the beginning of each match. Whether you desire to embody an undead mage with the ability to cast spells even after death, a solitary samurai falsely accused of fratricide, or a mystical feline that rides atop a book, this game caters to all preferences.

Some champions may be stronger than others based on the current meta. This can be crucial when competing at the highest level, as every advantage is needed to secure a victory.

Typically, professional players prioritize choosing champions with high outplay potential and stick to popular picks or those they are familiar with. However, the Korean team GenG demonstrated that difficulty doesn’t always equate to strength.

During the 2024 Summer Playoffs for the LCK, GenG strategically utilized Garen twice in their match against Dplus KIA. With both Chovy and Kiin expertly piloting the champion, it was flexed between the mid and top lanes, posing a challenge for Dplus during the champion select phase.

In the first game, Garen faced off against Showmaker’s unconventional choice of Nasus in the mid-lane, resulting in Chovy ending the game with a commendable score of 5/3/5. This match also featured a hilarious clip that quickly gained popularity on social media, showcasing Chovy’s impressive skill in defeating Kingen’s Olaf.

In the second Garen game, Kiin faced off against Nasus once again in the top lane. Despite ending the game with a score of 3/3/7, Kiin’s team, GenG, emerged victorious in the overall series with a score of three to nothing.

With only two games played, Garen has already proven to be a formidable force with a perfect 100% win rate in the LCK. As teams are constantly searching for unexpected picks to catch their opponents off guard, it’s likely that Demacia’s strength will once again be showcased in the near future.
