Disney+ held an open day event in Seoul this morning. South Korea company representative Kim So-yeon personally confirmed that she intends to film a sequel to the hit drama “MOVING”. It will be scheduled as soon as writer Jiang Cao returns from vacation!
Representative Kim said “MOVING”is the most successful of all the content launched by Disney+ in South Korea, and is an important node for Disney+’s further development in South Korea. As for the reason for success, CEO Kim believes that the most critical factor is the original work of Kang Cho’s writer: “The story based on Kang Cho’s webcomic has a strong power. While spanning multiple genres, the plot of the story continues to become solid and in-depth., the carefully designed story plays a huge role.”At the same time, the wonderful acting skills of newcomers and star actors, the teamwork of the staff and director, and the world’s top CG level are all indispensable.
Some people pointed out that “MOVING”itself is very suitable for the Disney+ platform. Representative Kim believes that although “MOVING”is an action thriller with a superhero as the protagonist, the core is always touching and resonant.
Regarding the sequel, Representative Kim affirmed that there have been plans for it: “The world view of Jiang Cao’s work is broad and has great potential, and we have discussed this aspect from the beginning. We have always believed that “MOVING Superpower”will be successful, although We still need to discuss it in detail, but we really and unconditionally want to shoot a second season. Although we have to wait until writer Jiang Cao comes back from rest before we can start discussing it, but our intention is firm.”
“MOVING”tells the story of children who hide their superpowers and live in the present, and parents who hide their painful secrets and live in the past. It is adapted from Jiang Cao’s webtoon of the same name, and the live-action version is also written by Jiang Cao. This drama not only invited big-name movie stars such as Jo In-sung, Ryu Seung-yong, and Han Hyo-joo to join the cast, but also invested 50 billion won in production costs, breaking the highest record in the history of Korean dramas. In the first week of its launch, it became the most watched time in history, and has received unanimous praise in markets in various countries.
