The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse episode 24: Mela-Galand defeated

The final episode of the first season of The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse, episode 24, marks the end of the Chaos in Liones arc and serves as the finale for the sequel series to Seven Deadly Sins. In contrast to typical season finales that conclude at the end of an arc, this episode concludes just as the main antagonist, Arthur Pendragon, appears to confront the Four Knights directly.

The Liones arc, spanning 31 chapters, is considered one of the longest manga arcs. In the anime, it has been given more than seven episodes, with each episode covering a few chapters. This sets it apart from the previous six arcs, which were typically covered in three episodes and encompassed up to 10 chapters each. Fans can look forward to a second season airing in October 2024, but until then, Four Knights of the Apocalypse episode 24 marks the end of the series for a few months.

Percival’s decision to imbue himself with Hope Magic was a wise one, as it was the only thing that could inflict lasting harm on Mela-Galand in Four Knights of the Apocalypse episode 24. Similar to Levi’s attack on the Beast Titan in Attack on Titan, Percival was able to slice off one of Mela-Galand’s arms, causing the monster to bleed heavily, stumble multiple times, and struggle to defend itself.

Isodle’s magic was another crucial element of assistance. By using her time bombs, she was able to inflict damage on Mela-Galand. When combined with Percival’s Hope Clones, it created a well-rounded approach to both attacking and defending, ultimately aiding in their rescue efforts and effectively striking the creature. The events in episode 24 of Four Knights of the Apocalypse demonstrate that the combined efforts of everyone in episode 23 were not futile, as the beast is finally showing signs of slowing down and sustaining damage.

Mela-Galand’s reliance on pure strength or magical trickery proved to be advantageous. In a final attempt to turn the tide of the battle, the massive creature activated Critical Over, an overdrive ability that enhanced its magic and defenses. Despite its ability to easily overpower Percival and nearly crush him, Isodle’s Love Bomb-powered mace proved to be the saving grace as it successfully severed the creature’s tail and saved Percival from certain defeat.

The downfall of Mela-Galand at the hands of Prince Tristan’s unstoppable power

As the offspring of Meliodas and Elizabeth, Prince Tristan possesses both the powers of a demon and a goddess. In episode 24 of Four Knights of the Apocalypse, his parents express concern when his demon powers start to dominate. When Tristan exclusively relies on his demon powers, he struggles to maintain control and becomes more aggressive.

Despite Melascula’s screams for him to stop, Prince Tristan continued his merciless attack on the fused monster. He first ripped the face off of the body before destroying it piece by piece. With one sword buried in the monster, he forcefully tore off its snake-like torso and threw his other sword at it, finally ending the perfect demonstration of Mela-Galand’s destruction.

Despite Percival’s urging for him to stop, Tristan persists in stabbing and ravaging the corpse of the monster. Using his dark magic, he obliterates the Hands of the Dead that Mela-Galand had attempted to use to harm others. He summons Lancelot for assistance in breaking out of his frenzied state, as he fears he may harm his companions, allies, and anyone else within his grasp.

The Return of King Arthur

Upon summoning Lancelot, the heroes were met with a resounding and unhurried applause, accompanied by a voice that echoed in their minds. Arthur Pendragon addressed all the warriors on the battlefield, expressing admiration for the Four Knights’ fighting abilities and disappointment in Gawain’s abandonment of his comrades.

As he enters, his arrogant attitude is evident as he uses his magic to lift rubble and debris, forming a staircase for him to descend. The sun breaks through the darkened sky, lending an air of divinity to his appearance. The presence of a ship, filled with his Holy Knights like a mighty Ironside, only adds to the commanding nature of Arthur’s entrance.

In episode 24 of Four Knights of the Apocalypse, viewers witness Arthur Pendragon’s impressive fighting skills and use of magic. As the situation becomes increasingly dire, Meliodas leaves his castle to confront his old enemy, highlighting the gravity of the situation. Percival and Tristan also attempt to join the fight, but despite their efforts, they are both easily defeated by Arthur. Percival is fueled by memories of his grandfather’s death at the hands of Ironside, but is quickly brushed aside. Similarly, Tristan puts up a good fight but ends up in worse condition than Percival, with a hole through his armor.

Reviewing the Finale and Season of Four Knights of the Apocalypse

As a final display of his dominance, Arthur unleashes the power of King’s Authority. This impressive technique creates a dazzling array of light weapons behind him, resembling a peacock’s plumage, and renders all those present unable to move. The episode concludes with Arthur slowly descending the stairs, while everyone remains paralyzed in fear.

The final episode of season one of Four Knights of the Apocalypse, episode 24, is a gripping conclusion to the series. The animation is exceptional, avoiding the issues faced by the original Seven Deadly Sins. The characters are well-written, with each member of Percival’s Platoon and the Four Knights having their own unique flaws and character arcs. The action scenes are well-executed and easy to follow.

Concluding Remarks

Overall, the series serves as a worthy sequel to the original. With the passage of time, the heroes have matured and a new generation has taken their place as the protagonists. The success of Season 2 will determine the fate of the series, as the later seasons of Seven Deadly Sins received criticism for their poor animation and other issues, causing it to lose favor with fans.

Fans can currently enjoy Four Knights of the Apocalypse on Netflix and read the manga, while the original Seven Deadly Sins is also available on the streaming platform.
