As the smartschoolboy9 controversy gains more attention, a concerning trend has surfaced on TikTok with the increase of fan art depicting the controversial figure. Before delving further, be advised that some may find this content disturbing.
Last week, popular YouTuber Nick Crowley released a new documentary titled ‘smartschoolboy9: An Internet Rabbit Hole’, which quickly gained widespread attention and has now been viewed by over 3.5 million people, causing a stir among viewers.
The trend of online mysteries gained traction in April when a worried Redditor raised concerns about Instagram accounts sharing eerie, doctored photos of young children. After further investigation, it was discovered that all of these accounts were linked to one individual: smartschoolboy9, an adult who disguises themselves in a school uniform.
Subsequently, a subreddit has surfaced where numerous unsettling anecdotes about 59-year-old David Alter are shared. Although none of these allegations have been substantiated, his posts, which often feature images or videos of actual children, are unquestionably concerning.
TikTokers are making Drake schoolboy9 fan art and edits
Ever since the smartschoolboy9 documentary went viral, a particular group on the internet has begun creating fan art and edits in his unique style. One such user, truth_sticks_11, is believed to be Alter’s alternate account.
The truth_sticks_11 Instagram page first emerged in 2021, featuring pictures of a seemingly 12-year-old boy. However, as time passed, the photos became increasingly altered and disturbing, depicting the child with an unsettling grin, red lips, exaggerated blond hair, piercing blue eyes, and no eyebrows.
truth_sticks_11’s edits grew increasingly concerning
A TikTok user has recently shared a video, recreating the same style as schoolboy9, featuring Drake as the subject. They added the words, “Gorgeous young man,”and the caption, “Mommy, are you proud of your smart schoolboy9?”
Surprisingly, this is not the only edit of Drake in the style of truth_sticks_11, as another page shared a similar clip featuring Clean Bandit’s ‘Symphony’ and the words “Very smart Drakey”appearing throughout the video.

A different post displays a fan-made video featuring Stefanie, a fictional 12-year-old aspiring poet who is thought to be the alter ego of smartschoolboy9. The video, titled ‘Stefanie SCHOOLIE’, includes XTC Acid’s ‘Sophie’ as the background music, while a voiceover introduces Stefanie as, “Hi, I’m Stefanie.”
There are also many images of female students on smartschoolboy9’s accounts, including drawings of legs with high-heeled shoes – a recurring theme among his posts.
The fan edit shared on TikTok depicts an image of Alter with added graphics of a wand and sparkles, set to the tune of the Trolls song ‘Can’t Stop the Feeling’. The accompanying caption states, “I now have my miniboots.”
Here are only a handful of the TikToks that have surfaced since the case became viral, each one shared in the last 24 hours.

Despite the troubling nature of the content, the posts have garnered numerous lighthearted comments, further perpetuating and trivializing harmful content while hindering efforts to address the underlying issue.
“One person exclaimed, “I’m Stefanie SCHOOLIE from the youth summer CAMP,”while another chimed in, “I heard Stefanie schoolie STIMBOARD mentioned.”A third person remarked, “smartschoolboy9 would definitely share this.”
“One person asked, “Where can I find the heeled miniboots?”during the Drake edit, while another person stated, “I need it for PFP, can you crop it?”
Followers of the Case Condemn Fan Edits
This phenomenon has caused worry among other onlookers. An individual on the schoolboy9 subreddit posted screenshots of the Drake TikTok, accompanied by the statement, “What is with people these days?”
“Can we address the fact that this despicable individual, who preys on children, is being turned into a meme? Are those who have heard about this truly lacking in intelligence?”
One person responded to the post by saying, “It should never have been shared on TikTok.”Another person wrote, “What is wrong with people? Creating jokes and fan pages about this is completely unacceptable.”

Another person chimed in, “I completely agree, but it seems like nowadays, people tend to make jokes and not take things seriously. I even saw someone create a fan page for this guy. It’s disturbing.”
Several TikTokers have raised concerns about the videos in the comments section, with one individual stating, “It’s disturbing that this man may have chased after a child, yet we’re discussing incorporating him into our ‘style’.”
Another person asked, “Can we refrain from discussing this matter involving a predator currently under investigation by the police?”
It should be noted that Crowley’s YouTube documentary cautions viewers against reaching out to the individual mentioned in the video, stating, “I do not support any form of harassment.”
It is imperative to apply the same principle to these TikTok pages. Although producing fan art in this situation is concerning, utilizing harassment as a means of resolution is not acceptable. It is crucial to address the issue through proper channels in order to maintain online safety.
