The Strangers Keep Appearing in Real Life and It’s Creeping People Out

With the release of The Strangers: Chapter 1 approaching, the notorious group of masked attackers featured in the horror film series continue to appear in real life, causing unease among many.

The popular home invasion horror franchise will soon be making its comeback to the big screen with a highly anticipated movie trilogy. The first installment, The Strangers: Chapter 1, is scheduled to hit theaters on May 17.

Up until now, the team has devised a rather devious marketing strategy: scattering actors dressed in the notorious Strangers masks throughout different locations in the US.

Robert Costa, a reporter, came across the trio of Dollface, Pin Up Girl, and the Man in the Mask in New York this week. He took a picture and tweeted: “Today, I witnessed a peculiar and slightly disconcerting sight outside of Manhattan criminal court.”

“One person responded, stating “That’s not creepy at all. Yikes,”while another person commented, “Seriously? That’s a little creepy even for New York.”

The group was also captured in both LA and Miami, as the official The Strangers: Chapter 1 page teased fans with disturbing videos and images. One post featured footage of the masked murderers on a Miami beach, accompanied by the caption, “Enjoying your day at the beach? We’re here to spoil it…”

Some of the individuals were caught stalking Tinseltown, with one quote from the group’s Twitter account stating, “Los Angeles, no amount of light can stop our darkness.”They were also spotted attempting to gain entry into the Pop Crave office.

The marketing stunt has undeniably succeeded in creating buzz for the upcoming horror movie, as evidenced by a fan tweeting, “This movie is going to be amazing! I can’t wait!”Another forecasts that it will be the “must-see movie of the year.”

These masks are not unfamiliar to us, as the horror franchise originated in 2008 with the release of the film The Strangers.

The frightening home invasion movie features Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman playing a couple whose peaceful getaway at a secluded vacation home becomes a desperate battle for survival against a gang of deranged individuals.

The killers’ identities remain a mystery throughout the film, as they always wear those eerie masks. This continues in the sequel, The Strangers: Prey at Night.

Following closely is Renny Harlin’s trilogy of movies, which were filmed consecutively and are scheduled to debut throughout 2024, beginning with Chapter 1 in the current month.

The focus of the narrative is on a recently formed couple, Maya (Madelaine Petsch) and Ryan (Froy Gutierrez), who become stuck in a secluded village in Oregon. After booking an Airbnb for the evening, they quickly discover that the unsettling locals are the least of their concerns.

The first installment of The Strangers, Chapter 1, will be released in theaters on May 17, 2024. Additionally, there are plenty of other movies to check out this month, including all of the latest and greatest films coming to streaming services.
