The Veil Season 2: What We Know So Far

Excitement erupted among fans upon learning that Steven Knight, the mastermind behind the popular Peaky Blinders series, will be returning with a new show titled The Veil.

The show was also beloved and applauded by viewers for its thrilling plotlines.

The plot centers on Imogen Salter (Elisabeth Moss), a seasoned MI6 operative tasked with locating Adilah El Idrissi (Yumna Marwan) and uncovering her true identity.

Despite the first season ending without resolving many questions, fans are eagerly awaiting the possibility of a second season.

1. Is The Veil Season 2 happening?

At present, FX has not approved a second season of The Veil. Although the show was initially marketed as a limited series, Elisabeth Moss has shown interest in returning for another season.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed working with FX on Steven’s writing. In fact, Fargo and FX were the main factors that drew me to The Handmaid’s Tale,”the actress shared with Collider. “Their successful track record in both television and streaming is what convinced me that there was something beyond Mad Men for me. Working with them has been a great experience.”

Despite receiving mixed reviews and being categorized as a limited series, The Veil has the potential to be renewed for a second season due to its growing popularity. This is evident in FX’s decision to produce seasons 2 and 3 of Shōgun, a show similar in format that was also released this year.

It is evident that the first season of the thriller ends with a cliffhanger, indicating that there is still much more to Imogen’s story. With her father’s sudden reappearance, a potential new conspiracy arises for her to unravel and perhaps even a global threat that she must confront.

2. Potential Plotline for The Veil Season 2

Imogen’s past could be explored further in the second season as she rises within the intelligence services.

Additionally, exploring the character arc of Max Peterson, portrayed by Josh Charles, who utilizes any means necessary to achieve his goals, would be beneficial as his storyline warrants further examination. This could potentially reveal insights into his role as the cunning CIA agent.

Overall, the anticipation of Imogen’s return to our screens is enthralling. Season 2 has the potential to explore topics such as political scheming, the quest for fairness, the blurred lines between morality, and the cutthroat realm of espionage filled with significant consequences.

3. The Veil Season 1 Ending Explained

In Episode 6, titled “The Cottage,”Imogen is faced with an unexpected encounter with her ex-lover and former mentor, Michael Althorp, portrayed by James Purefoy. This is the first time he has appeared in present time, as he has only been seen in flashbacks before. Imogen must turn to him for assistance in obtaining forged passports to reunite Adilah with her daughter, Yasmina.

During the visit, Michael reveals to Imogen that he is the father of her deceased child and plays manipulative games with her. The audience also discovers that Michael is working with the Russians, just as Imogen’s late father did before he was killed for being a spy.

Imogen lures her father’s protege into the bedroom, where they engage in a dangerous altercation before French DGHSE agent Malik arrives and ultimately kills Michael just in time.

As Michael and Adilah fled, Adilah was killed by Michael’s chauffeur, Patrick. Imogen, who was distraught, discovered that Adilah had written the name of the targeted U.S. ship, Provadia, on the windshield before her death.
