The Witch and the Beast anime, created by Yokohama Animation Lab, came to an end on April 5, 2024. The final episode depicted the successful efforts of Guideau and Ashaf in rescuing Falvell from the clutches of the Executioners three years prior.
Despite fans’ enjoyment of seeing Guideau’s monster form for the last time in the episode, the finale’s enigmatic conclusion left them both puzzled and impressed. In the ending of The Witch and the Beast anime, Ashaf and Guideau followed Angela’s trail and reached an enthralling location known as the Fall, accompanied by Ashaf.
Despite the finale of The Witch and the Beast leaving more questions unanswered, it is undeniable that the final moments of the episode added to the expansive world-building of the anime.
Nevertheless, Ashaf was able to decipher the mysterious message of the original witch, making it all possible.
Ashaf and Guideau’s Arrival at Orlencia Sett: A World of Vampires
Despite the fact that the final moments of The Witch and the Beast anime’s finale were undeniably the most intriguing highlight of the episode, they still managed to beautifully encapsulate the theme of Eloquence and Silence, as Ashaf and Guideau saved Falvell from the Executioners.
As Ashaf reflects on the first time he met Guideau three years ago, his thoughts eventually return to the present. He then informs his partner that he has yet to teach her an important lesson. When Guideau asks for more information, Ashaf admits that he wants to teach her the true essence of love.
In the finale of The Witch and the Beast anime, Ashaf can be seen driving with Guideau to an unknown destination. During the journey, he discloses that there are eight continents in the world, with the first continent being home to the Global Holy Church, the most powerful entity in the world.
According to Ashaf, the other continents are positioned eastward in a sequential order, starting with the second continent, and continuing in the same manner. He also clarifies that The Global Holy Church is highly respected as the first source of magic.
The more distant one travels from its grasp, the lower the quality of magical culture they would encounter. Nevertheless, the Eighth Continent, which is the farthest from The Global Holy Church, challenges this belief by creating its own distinct form of magical technology.
Ashaf also mentions that in addition to the aforementioned general structure, there are other enigmatic and unique areas scattered throughout the world. One particular location is an island situated between the seventh and eighth continents, where a seemingly bottomless pit can be found.
Despite the common belief that the destination of the hole is a mystery, Ashaf reveals that this is merely a misconception. In reality, thorough investigations have been conducted and the ending of the Witch and the Beast anime confirms that the hole, known as The Fall, leads to other realms.
The mage of The Magic Resonance informs his partner that The Fall is comprised of 17 levels, each connecting to a unique world. It seems that the symbol, B4, that Angela Ann Huel engraved onto the deceased Executioner’s body was related to this fact.
Ashaf’s familiarity with The Fall and his cleverness enabled him to interpret Angela’s enigmatic message. As he steps into the elevator and hits the B4 button, he believes that if Guideau is truly determined to track down Angela, they will uncover either her or a clue there.
The duo takes the lift to the highest floor, Level 4 (B4), where they are warned by an attendee that it is a perilous area. He cautions them that revealing their status as visitors could lead to trouble with the locals.
Afterwards, Ashaf obtains traditional attire from a fellow participant and specifically requests multiple black dresses. Prior to reaching their destination, the mage from Magical Resonance finally unveils the secret of Level 4.
As stated by Ashaf in The Witch and the Beast finale, Level 4 is officially referred to as Orlencia Sett, a realm inhabited by Vampires.
Despite the absence of vampires in the finale, it undoubtedly concluded with an interesting twist, generating further inquiries. In addition to expanding the world of the narrative, the episode also provided potential for a sequel.
