The Witcher 3 Developer Responds to Elden Ring Breaking DLC Record with Stunning Art

CD Projekt Red has extended their congratulations to FromSoftware for breaking a long-standing Witcher 3 record with the release of Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree expansion.

The release of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree was met with critical acclaim, earning the title of highest-rated DLC of all time. Its current score of 95 on Metacritic surpasses the previous record of 92 held by Blood and Wine, the second and final expansion for The Witcher 3.

Following the record-breaking achievement of FromSoftware, The Witcher developer CD Projekt Red has responded by sending its congratulations and sharing stunning crossover artwork.

In a tweet from the official Witcher account, CDPR recognized that Blood and Wine’s eight-year-long reign as “the best-reviewed expansion for a role-playing game”had ended. They stated that FromSoftware’s “stellar work”on @ELDENRING now allows it to claim that title.

The words of admiration were displayed next to artwork featuring Geralt of Rivia, the protagonist of Witcher, standing atop the Moghwyn Dynasty Mausoleum following his victory over Mohg, the Lord of Blood. Geralt can be seen wielding Mohgwyn’s Sacred Spear, an unlockable weapon for players who defeat the boss.

It was purposely decided to include Elden Ring’s enemy, Mohg, as the final boss that players must defeat in order to unlock Shadow of the Erdtree and begin playing.

This fact is reinforced by another image that was shared by The Witcher account, which includes screenshots of CDPR developers successfully completing this particular battle in anticipation of the DLC’s release.

The artwork and CDPR’s “gracious tweet”acknowledging the new record holder were met with excitement from fans of both games. Many praised the gesture as a classy move.

According to a fan, the exchange of appreciation between the top two gaming studios is a historic moment in the world of gaming.

Another person stated it in a simpler manner, expressing “A goat knows its own kind.”
