The Worst Alien Movie of All Time May Be Re-Released with Massive Changes

Thanks to a discovery made by a crew member, fans may finally have the opportunity to see the ultimate version of Aliens vs Predator: Requiem.

After discovering a collection of reference images from Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem, writer Liam O’Donnell shared on his X account. As a creative consultant for the film’s VFX company, O’Donnell had access to these images.

These images are a significant discovery for the film. Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem is often considered to be the weakest installment of either franchise, centering on a veteran Predator’s mission to prevent a Xenomorph/Predator hybrid from wreaking havoc on Earth.

Despite the plot being a letdown, the movie’s shortcomings do not end there. The film’s notorious darkness makes it nearly impossible to make out anything on screen. Fortunately, with the recent discovery of these images, fans can now get a glimpse of the original vision for the film, including an outstanding design for the Predator.

Additionally, there is even more positive news for enthusiasts of the Alien franchise. Following O’Donnell’s release of reference images, he has disclosed that he reached out to Daniel Pearl, the cinematographer for AVP:R, who has agreed to attempt to regrade the movie.

According to reports, Pearl was responsible for the initial dark edit of AVP:R, as it is said that he was dissatisfied with the level of visibility of the Xenomorphs and Predators in the previous movies. However, his attempt to address this issue resulted in an excessively murky and dim film in Requiem.

It is yet to be determined if regrading the film will effectively address its major issues, although O’Donnell has reassured fans that if Fox/Disney still possesses the necessary materials, Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem can be easily improved.

After a long wait, fans may finally have the chance to witness the ultimate showdown between Alien and Predator as it was originally intended.

The newest installment of the Alien franchise, Alien: Romulus, is currently playing in cinemas.
