Theater Actress’s Tragic Collapse Leads to Organ Donation That Saves Others’ Lives

On April 4th, Joo Seon-ok collapsed during a theater practice and was immediately brought to the hospital. Unfortunately, she was diagnosed with a brain hemorrhage and despite efforts to revive her, she was declared brain dead at Seoul Asan Medical Center.

The family of the deceased expressed their immense grief upon receiving the diagnosis of brain death for their previously healthy daughter on the 5th. Despite their devastation, they honored the wishes of their loved one, who was known for regularly performing good deeds and had positively considered organ donation, and agreed to donate her organs.

Following the bereaved family’s approval, the heart and lungs of the deceased were donated to a male patient, while a female patient received her liver and both kidneys. The surgeries have been successfully completed, with a corneal transplant surgery still pending.

Even until the end, Joo Seon-ok’s acquaintances were reminded of her cheerful personality and generosity when she was alive, as they witnessed her continuing to do good deeds.

In the meantime, Joo Seon-ok was born in 1986 and had a thriving career as a theater actress in multiple productions. Unfortunately, she passed away before the filming of a Christian movie.
