The announcement of a new Pokémon Legends title had players returning to Pokémon Legends: Arceus to see if they missed anything about ZA. It turns out they actually missed something.
Pokémon Legends: ZA was announced during Pokémon Day this year and the community has been incredibly excited ever since. Many fans returned to Pokémon Legends: Arceus to see if they missed anything – and it turns out they did.
A possible clue to Pokémon Legends: ZA can be found right at the start of Pokémon Legends: Arceus and players have been unpacking it online, trying to see if there’s something more to the story.
Pokémon Players Spot a ZA Clue in Pokémon Legends: Arceus
Originally appearing in this post X, a Pokémon player uploaded screenshots of Pokémon Legends: Arceus and Pokémon X & Y side by side, comparing the t-shirts seen on both characters. It’s very clearly the same design and the author of the original post commented that it “makes a lot of sense” .
Now it makes a lot of sense that in Legends Arceus the protagonist starts with the shirt “essential t-shirt”that appears in Pokémon XY pic.twitter.com/Nu2cWDGfAi

If you haven’t seen anything about Pokémon Legends: ZA yet, it’s set entirely in Lumiose Town, which is one of the key locations in Pokémon X & Y. Some fans believe that PLA lore will crossover directly with the lore of this new game.
The “Essential Tee” can be seen in the opening sequence of Pokémon Legends: Arceus on one of the player characters. The other player character can be seen wearing an Alola t-shirt, sparking fan theories and debates in the community.
Pokémon players responded to this post with their own theories and speculations about potential connections between PLA and ZA, with one person saying, “Imagine if the opening for Arceus is the end credits scene of Pokémon Z after he helps rebuild Kalos.”
Another player mentioned “Imagine you put the game into the Switch, it reads your data from Arceus, then keeps your clothes, hair, pokemon, etc. when you play ZA” which would definitely be a fun connection between the two titles.
Not everyone was convinced by the t-shirt theory, however. One frustrated gamer responded to the original post by simply saying, “It’s… just a t-shirt.” Another said it’s “just a coincidence.”
No matter which way you lean, it will be interesting to see what the story of Pokémon Legends: ZA will be. The latest Legends game added a lot of depth (and confusion, in places) to the world of Pokémon, so it makes sense to see fan theories and wishes already popping up.
