The Custom keyboard designer has created a new keyboard called the “Creampuff”which is inspired by Kirby. The best part is, you have the opportunity to purchase one for yourself.
As PC gaming becomes increasingly accessible, the market is flooded with an endless selection of visually appealing keyboards. These keyboards, ranging from those produced by major brands to those created by independent designers, come in a variety of cute and unique shapes and sizes. For example, there is a charming custom-made keyboard inspired by the popular character Kirby.
Qlavier, a creator based in Belgium, recently posted on X/Twitter to share images of their new custom keyboard inspired by Kirby. The keyboard, named “Creampuff”, showcases the lovable Kirby character with his signature hands and feet, and features matching translucent pink keys. The Creampuff, which was originally unveiled in February, is made with custom-cut GS Perspex acrylic and includes anti-slip feet, pre-cut adhesive layers, and is compatible with standard layout 60% PCBs.
Despite not being an officially licensed product, designer Qlavier humorously states on their website that the creation of their “CreamPuff”keyboard was inspired by a dream and is entirely original, not based on any existing intellectual property.
According to social media posts, designer Qlavier’s website is the only place where the adorable custom-built board can be purchased for a limited time. The keyboard is offered in three versions – Creampuff 59%, No Shoes Creampuff 60%, and Regularly 60% – with only twenty-four of each available on the designer’s website.
“According to Qlaiver’s Instagram post, this keyboard is compatible with any standard 60% PCB, so there should be no complaints. However, time is ticking with only 3 days left to get it >:)”
Despite the undeniable increase in cuteness that each version of the Creampuff board brings to your setup, they do come at a considerable cost. The complete board, complete with Kirby-feet, is priced at €245, equivalent to $260. However, one could argue that this is a reasonable cost for the extensive custom-keyboard designing expertise of Qlavier and the joy of having Kirby at your fingertips.
