This doomed Baldur’s Gate 3 NPC deserved to be a party member

Despite being destined for a tragic outcome, many fans of Baldur’s Gate 3 are hoping for one particular character to join their party. This is because she possesses all the qualities necessary for a successful adventurer.

The fanbase of Baldur’s Gate 3 has expressed their desire for certain NPCs to be playable, with Alfira the Bard consistently being at the top of the list.

Typically, this is due to the character possessing a unique design, a captivating backstory, a charismatic demeanor, a class that is not already present in the current group, or a combination of these factors.

There is one less prominent NPC who also deserves the opportunity to become a playable character, despite being easily overlooked and quickly forgotten upon their death.

Ellyka, a Tiefling, can be found near the wooden bridge at the entrance to the Mountain Pass. When approached, a cutscene will reveal the presence of the Githyanki and their red dragon in the area.

Ellyka stands out with her unique appearance, as she is a Tiefling with pinkish skin, blonde hair, and black/red eyes. This sets her apart from the majority of Tieflings in the game, who typically have dark red skin due to their fiendish heritage.

Despite the player’s attempts to work together, Ellyka remains firm and refuses any offers of cooperation. This proves to be unfortunate as having an adventuring companion might have saved her from meeting her tragic end. Her body is eventually discovered in the Githyanki Creche, where she had been caught and killed while attempting to steal a sacred artifact.

As online discussions among fans revealed, Ellyka possessed all the qualities of an adventurer and would have made an incredible, fierce ally for Tav. Unfortunately, this was not meant to be. However, there is hope that modders for Baldur’s Gate 3 will find a way to recruit Ellyka and add her to the group.
