Players of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet have discovered a new duplication bug in the game, involving two of the game’s most flawed species.
For Pokémon Scarlet and Purple players, having a ton of items can greatly improve their gaming experience. That’s why when Pokémon trainers discover a new method to getting tons of important items, like the Master Ball and Safari Ball, is a big deal.
The Item Printer introduced with the Indigo Disc DLC brought plenty of opportunities for players to store these precious items, but again, it works as intended. However, a new duplication bug was recently discovered, and players are crazy about it.
According to popular Pokémon streamer Osirus, the bug involves duplicating an item with the help of two unconventional but also flawed Pokémon: Queulorior and Ditto.
As explained by Osirus in the video above, the method for duplicating items in Pokémon Scarlet and Purple is a bit circuitous and involves the following steps:
- Have a level 100 Ditto with the Warm Up ability.
- Have Kyurem or Black Kyurem in your second slot holding the item you want to duplicate, with only the ‘Possessive’ attack allocated.
- Have a Pokémon that knows the ‘Magic Trick’ attack.
- Head to the Savannah area of the Terarium, and lure a Wild Queulorior to a certain buggy location.
- Make him face Metamorph, transform into Queulorior, and have Queulorior copy the transformation with Gribouille.
- Immediately switch to Kyurem (or Kyurem Black).
- Let Queulorior transform into Kyurem. Then use a combat item to wait until Queulorior Kyurem uses Possessive.
- Let the two Pokémon fight using Fight, and after a few turns, flee the fight.
- Fleeing will bug Queulorior in the area and he will have the duplicate item; now you can steal the item, run away, and repeat the process.
This is quite a complicated but effective method for collecting lots of amazing items. But again, we don’t encourage anything that could be used as an exploit or be called “cheating.”
