A Palworld player recently created the perfect Pokémon mod, featuring iconic figures like Ash, Pikachu and more. This is what it looks like.
The survival game Palworld has generated strong interest among players since its launch less than seven days ago. In terms of peak concurrent players on Steam, the game surpassed Elden Ring over the weekend, breakingall records in the process.
Pocket Pair created this open-world survival RPG with creatures called “Pals” that resemble animals.
And quickly, some players compared this new game to a “plagiarism of Pokémon with weapons” due to the similarities between the two franchises and the fact that it will not be available on Nintendo consoles.
Although tensions between Pokémon and Palworld fans run high, one player has created a mod that places Ash, Pikachu, and dozens of other iconic Pokémon characters into Palworld.
A Palworld mod brings iconic Pokémon characters
Although Palworld was not supposed to have mod support upon release, Australian YouTuber Toasted Shoes managed to obtain footage of a working Pokémon mod in the game. Since its Early Access release on Steam and Xbox, modders have worked to put a Pokémon mod pack online.

The video shows Toasted showing how the mod allows players to take on the role of Ash Ketchum from the Pokémon series and engage in battles against various characters like Florizarre and Team Rocket. Pikachu, Mystherbe, Ash’s friends Ondine and Pierre, as well as a multitude of other beloved characters from the franchise are also part of the mod.
This mod appears to have been inserted into the game through a backdoor in the code, although Pocket Pair has yet to release official mod support and this mod is not approved.
On the other hand, Toasted also announced a full video on January 23, 2024, which will be released on its YouTube channel to display this mod in all its glory. Some viewers are crossing their fingers that the video includes a link to install it.
