This Pokémon Go Level 49 challenge is close to impossible

Pokémon Go players are fed up with the game’s level requirements, with higher levels being called “discouraging”and a chore.

At its core, Pokémon Go is a collectible game, but its popularity wouldn’t be the same without some exciting events, challenges, and quests to complete. After all, it’s these features that keep many players coming back, even if some aspects of it cause frustration.

However, quests, events and challenges aside, one feature remains present from the beginning: level requirements. This keeps players engaged in the game and brings a sense of accomplishment to many once they level up – but for some, certain levels seem more like a chore than a challenge.

Pokémon Go players criticize Niantic for “discouraging” level requirements

Sharing their frustrations on Reddit, a Pokémon Go player posted an image of the Level 49 Requirements, claiming that “this chore will take longer than the 999 excellent rolls to the next level.” The challenge in question asks the player to “obtain 50 lucky Pokémon from trades.”

Lucky Pokémon are quite difficult to obtain in the first place, but fans need to find other active players to trade with who are willing to part with some of their Pokémon.

Many other players commented to criticize Niantic for its “discouraging” challenges, with some feeling quite frustrated: “Is this serious?!? I did not know. Phew. So I will never get to 50.”

Others felt that this challenge was far too time-consuming, with many fans pointing out that they are currently “stuck in this task with only 3 lucky trades,”adding that it “will take them years.”

Luckily, many fans revealed some key tips and advice in the comments, with some explaining that the best way is to hope your partner plays or is willing to spend. Another explained how he “just made it by creating another account with my old phone and trading with it every day.” While this is against Pokémon Go rules, it’s clear that many are willing to break a few rules to get rid of this “chore”challenge.
