Pokémon Go players couldn’t believe their eyes when a trainer revealed that their Lucky Charmander had been captured on the first day of the game’s launch in their country.

Pokémon Go players are often eager to show off their rare pocket monster captures that they have obtained over the years.

Whether it’s a father incredibly lucky with his “insane catch”or another trainer defying the odds to hatch a rare Hundo, seeing trainers “catch ’em all”has always been popular on social media.

Now, one player has left others shocked after revealing their Lucky Charmander was caught in Pokémon Go over seven years ago, when Niantic first released the game.

The screenshot showed that the classic Pokémon was called “Day 1 2016,” and it was further stated in the game that it was captured on July 14, 2016 in the United Kingdom.

Despite claims from many trainers around the world that it was not captured on the game’s release day, many players were quick to confirm: “July 14, 2016 was the release day for many countries,”as the United Kingdom.

Various trainers have flocked to praise the Day One Charmander for not evolving in over seven years. “You’re really lucky, man. Best starter Pokémon to boot,” one commented, to which Northern Captain replied: “I couldn’t agree more…I’ve loved the Charmander lineage ever since I played Pokémon Red in 1999!”

Other trainers shared their Pokémon from day one, while another revealed that they also caught a Lucky Charmander on release day: “I got one from the first day we were able to play in Canada. 100% IV Lucky Charmander, who is now my best Charizard Buddy.” The author replied: “That’s great! I’m trying to make him my best friend, so I’ll try to join the club.”

Although he’s not the only one in the world, for a trainer to still have a classic Lucky Pokémon from day one is certainly incredibly rare in Pokémon Go. This player isn’t the only one to have impressed the community, and no doubt, many more awesome stories will continue to emerge over time.
