This really ain’t it – My Hero Academia fans support Aoyama after controversial season 7 episode

The latest episode of Season 7 in the My Hero Academia anime revealed that Yuga Aoyama is the UA traitor, after weeks of the season being in progress. This reveal had been highly anticipated by fans, who had spent years speculating about the identity of the person leaking information to All For One. However, there has been some backlash towards Deku’s handling of the situation since the anime confirmed Aoyama as the traitor.

Despite some people’s belief that Deku was releasing a supposed terrorist without repercussions, numerous fans of My Hero Academia pointed out that this was not the situation.

Despite Aoyama’s less than ideal actions, the context surrounding them provided a logical explanation and made them more understandable, as he was essentially being manipulated by All For One through blackmail.

This article includes spoilers for the series.

Explaining Aoyama’s Motives as the UA Traitor in My Hero Academia

In the latest episode of the seventh season of the anime, Yuga Aoyama revealed his reasons for being the UA traitor. Despite this, Deku was able to forgive him and welcome him as an ally for the upcoming battle.

Despite this, there were fans who criticized Deku for letting a terrorist go unpunished, but others also shared their opinions on the matter.

“My hero is very simple, but I’m amazed how people can’t understand anything, but maybe you just haven’t seen the episode,”someone said.

“Listen, I hate the French as much as the next guy but he isn’t a terrorist,”someone else said.

“Don’t blame Aoyama or call him a terrorist. He was used, groomed and manipulated by AFO,”another person pointed out.

It is important to note that Aoyama’s parents had requested for All For One to give their son a Quirk, resulting in his manipulation by the evil overlord.

Consequently, Aoyama was primarily manipulated by the main antagonist of the series, who used him as a source of information. He was merely a child caught in a daunting situation beyond his capabilities.

“It was his parents’ fault that he even ended up in this situation and was forced to do All For One’s bidding so that he wouldn’t kill him and his parents,”someone said.

“I honestly can’t bring myself to fully blame Aoyama despite it all. His parents put him up to this from the start,”another person said.

Despite Aoyama’s unquestionably harmful actions and their detrimental impact on the greater good, it can be argued that All For One bears responsibility for them.

His parents simply desired a successful future for their son, while Aoyama himself was merely a young child being controlled by a malevolent tyrant who took advantage of their misfortune.

“I will say is this. Your perspective of this scene is different from what everyone sees… Aoyama isn’t a bad guy,”someone said.

“Dude. He is a 14 year old CHILD. Midoria literally points out that he is a victim, & he was forced to do wrong things in the name of keeping his parents alive but helped where he could at great risk to his safety- & u blame him 4 his parents decision & One for all’s manipulation,”another person pointed out.

Final Thoughts

Many supporters of My Hero Academia emphasized that, although Aoyama’s actions were not commendable, he was actually a victim in the situation. As a young child, he was placed in a terrible predicament due to All For One’s actions.
