Despite many celebrities failing to become members of Girls’ Generation, Founder Lee Soo Man made it clear that THIS particular member should always be included. This was in response to the person in charge’s attempt to remove her from the group.
The most recent episode of MBC’s “Radio Star”was broadcasted on May 15. The theme for the episode was “Actor’s Jewel Box”and it featured special guests including actors Kim Do Hyun and Kim Nam Hee, singer Tiffany Young, and musical actor Choi Jaerim.
On that day, the actress who was once an idol discussed her past experiences as a member of SNSD and her journey into the world of acting.
Additionally, she revealed that her admission to Girls’ Generation was largely thanks to the support and guidance of SM’s founder Lee Soo Man.
Specifically, she has a shorter training period of two years compared to the other members, who have all undergone a minimum of five years of training, including YoonA, Hyoyeon, and Yuri.
Next, Tiffany stated:
“My training period was shorter than that of the other members, so at the end, the person in charge said, ‘I think you might not make it. Are you mentally ready to go home?’”
Just as she was on the verge of being dismissed, Lee Soo Man appeared and declared:
“But Lee Soo Man (former executive producer at SM Entertainment) said that my smile was my best strength and energy when I appeared on screen, and he actually said, ‘I think you should never be left out (of Girls’ Generation).’
When I debuted with ‘Into the New World,’ many people liked my eye smile.”
Without a doubt, Lee Soo Man made the right decision in choosing her to remain. It is impossible for us to even imagine SNSD’s debut without Tiffany!
Furthermore, while the conversation was ongoing, Tiffany elaborated on her co-members and their playful nature.
She remembered the time when her friends used to tease her about her limited Korean skills, showing off their strong bond as “true friends.”
Tiffany Young recounted:
“At the beginning of my debut, I was very confused and poor at Korean because I had only recently come to Korea. The members made fun of me a lot. There were times when I said ‘Please excuse us’ instead of ‘We ask for your understanding’ or said, ‘I asked for your understanding’ incorrectly, but no one would correct me.
Later, I argued with the members and it was even more so because the members were having fun. When I asked what “야속하다(heartless)”means, Sooyoung replied, “속이 야해 (I feel erotic inside). But now I have improved a lot because I carry my dictionary and the members have acknowledged that I’m better at Korean than them.”
