This Week in Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris: Map and Weapon Highlights

Destiny 2’s pinnacle PvP activity, Trials of Osiris, returns once again. If you’re curious about this week’s featured map and weapon, we have everything you need in this detailed breakdown of the looter shooter’s most competitive game mode.

The Final Shape expansion reintroduces Trials, offering Guardians more chances to compete for glory. Two new weapons are also available: Aisha’s Care and the reprised Shayura’s Wrath, which players can farm throughout Echoes Act 3.

Despite historical challenges like cheaters and technical issues in Destiny 2, Bungie has released updates in recent seasons to enhance the experience.

Featured Trials of Osiris Map This Week

There is no featured Trials of Osiris map this week as Iron Banner is active and has taken its place in the Crucible rotation. The competitive PvP mode will return on September 27, so utilize this time to visit Lord Saladin in The Tower to see what he offers.

Trials of Osiris features a different map each week, providing variety and allowing players of various skill sets to excel. Some maps favor close-quarters combat, while others are better suited for scout rifles and snipers. Keeping track of the featured map is essential for optimizing your loadout.

This weekend’s Trials of Osiris rewards include:

  • Rank 7 – Enhancement Prism (x3)
  • Rank 10 – Aisha’s Care (Strand Pulse Rifle)
  • Rank 13 – Ascendant Alloy (x1)

The Summoner is this week’s featured weapon in Trials of Osiris.

Instead of the previous thresholds requiring 3, 5, 7, and Flawless wins for rewards, players now earn Trials Engrams based on their reputation level with Saint-14 in the Tower’s Hangar.

Once you receive a weapon at least once, you can focus it using a Trials Engram, simplifying the farming process. Additionally, players can acquire Adept gear and armor with superior stat rolls by achieving Flawless runs.

Trials of Osiris Passages Explained

With the playlist overhaul in Season of the Lost, Trials of Osiris has seen adjustments to its Passages. These items grant access to the Trials playlist each weekend, and the new system features important changes:

  • Passages no longer track losses
    • Each Passage is either Flawless or not, allowing players to continue earning rewards regardless of losses
    • Players can reset their Passage after a loss but are not compelled to do so after attaining three losses on their card
  • Passages now track up to 20 rounds won
  • Pricing for Passages has been significantly reduced
  • Passages are now account-wide, enabling players to earn rewards on any character using the same Passage

Understanding these changes and how they affect your preparation for the playlist can be complex. Here’s a breakdown of each Passage, its functions, and which is suitable for you:

  • Passage of Mercy: This Passage forgives two losses if you haven’t been Flawless for the week, reducing to one once you achieve Flawless.
    • Ideal for those aiming for the Lighthouse, providing one free loss without card resets.
  • Passage of Ferocity: Grants a bonus win after reaching three wins, allowing players to skip a match towards the Lighthouse.
    • A strong secondary choice behind Mercy for Flawless runs but lacks loss forgiveness.
  • Passage of Wealth: Increases Trials rank with each win, with rewards scaling up as your major rank does.
    • This card is perfect for players focused on farming Trials rewards rather than achieving Flawless.
  • Passage of Confidence: Provides an additional reward from the Flawless chest and is accessible only after achieving Flawless that week.
    • Best for skilled players with a solid fireteam, aiming for increased rewards at the Lighthouse.
  • Passage of Persistence: Mitigates loss impact by awarding the weekly Adept weapon at seven wins, regardless of matches played.
    • A great choice for casual players seeking an Adept weapon without the need for consistent Flawless runs.

Selecting the appropriate Passage for your team can significantly enhance your experience in the playlist each weekend.

Trials of Osiris Weekly Reset Time

Trials of Osiris will next go live on September 27 and will run until the weekly reset on October 1, introducing a new map and featured weapon into rotation. The competitive PvP mode is taking a break for Iron Banner.

Before participating in the competition, stop by The Tower’s hangar to speak with Saint-14, the vendor overseeing Trials, who will provide your Trials Passages and rewards.
