CBS has officially given the green light to a Young Sheldon sequel – but one of the actors has revealed he was not “invited” to join the cast.
As Sheldon’s door closes, Georgie and Mandy’s door opens. With the end of Young Sheldon, whose season 7 will end on May 16, CBS has just confirmed that a sequel starring the older brother is indeed planned.
However, a member of the Cooper family recently revealed that they have no plans to star in this Young Sheldon sequel. Quite simply because he was not “invited” .
A Young Sheldon star wasn’t ‘invited’ to join the sequel
Raegan Revord, who plays Missy Cooper in the prequel, revealed she wasn’t part of the sequel because she wasn’t “invited” to it.
The comments were made on an Instagram post from Montana Jordan, who plays Sheldon’s older brother Georgie. The caption reads: “GET READY!!!! The Cooper family continues. Thank you all for your support of Young Sheldon. I hope to give you exactly what you are looking for in this new adventure!”
In response, actress Raegan Revord commented her congratulations: “Couldn’t happen to a better person! I wish you all the best out there, bro.” And when fans asked if she would appear, the actress couldn’t be clearer: “Not invited. But I will support Montana!”
So we can already rule out Missy’s presence in Young Sheldon’s sequel, but that also means that other family members, including Sheldon, are unlikely to appear.
Season 7 of Young Sheldon has started its broadcast, which will not end before May 16, 2024: so there is still a little time for fans who want to enjoy their favorite characters.
