Thousands of Pokemon Go players reveal they “always skip” Research task dialogue

Despite it being the only real source of storytelling in the game, thousands of Pokemon Go players have confessed to “tapping”and skipping their way through Professor Willow’s Research task dialogue.

Every month, Pokemon Go introduces fresh Research tasks that provide players with one-of-a-kind items, Pokemon, and helpful tools as rewards.

Whenever a new Research task is added to Pokemon Go, Professor Willow will be available to explain the necessary steps for completing it. This is a tradition in the Pokemon franchise, where every game includes a Professor character to assist players on their adventure.

One of the most well-known and beloved characters among them is Professor Oak, who appears in the anime series and numerous main title Pokemon games. He is usually the one who presents players with their first Pokemon.

Despite being featured in a popular Reddit thread, many Pokemon Go players have confessed to simply tapping through Professor Willow’s dialogue without paying attention, with some even admitting they can’t remember his name.

In a Reddit thread, a participant shared, “My spouse refers to him as Professor Yak.”Another user chimed in, “But let’s be real, anything Willow says is unreliable.”

Despite the fact that skipping through dialogue is not a new concept for the gaming community, Professor Willow remains as the sole provider of world-building in the game.

Despite the recent discovery that a large majority of Pokemon Go players tend to skip through Professor Oak’s dialogue, there has been a growing plea from players for Niantic’s development team to refresh his speeches.

“If Niantic put in the effort to tell a story through well-crafted cutscenes or something like Masters EX, I might actually consider listening to what this person has to say,”commented another Pokemon Go player.

Each set of tasks may vary, but they generally consist of various objectives for players to accomplish. These objectives can include catching a specific Pokemon, walking a designated distance with a Buddy Pokémon, or emerging victorious in Gym Battles.

It remains to be seen if Niantic will heed the requests of their community and make a much-needed update to Professor Willow’s lengthy information monologues, in order to prevent players from constantly tapping through his ramblings during Research Tasks.
