Former manager of YouTube’s ‘Piper Squad,’ Tiffany Smith, has resolved her sexual abuse controversy with a settlement of $1.85 million.
Tiffany Smith, the mother of YouTube sensation Piper Rockelle, faced a lawsuit from 11 alleged victims claiming sexual battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The plaintiffs contended that the 41-year-old aimed to sabotage their YouTube careers after they distanced themselves from her daughter.
The legal action was initiated in January 2022 by the group known as the ‘Piper Squad’ on YouTube. Legal documents revealed that Smith allegedly pressured the members into creating inappropriate content and subjected them to mental abuse.
One individual from the Piper Squad accused Smith of repeatedly spanking her and inappropriately touching her exposed thighs.
Further allegations involved Smith sending her daughter’s soiled underwear to a stranger, stating that “old men like to smell stuff.”Additionally, she was accused of making crude comments about one girl’s breasts and referring to two boys as “horny bastards.”
Matt Sarelson, the attorney representing the plaintiffs, described the case as “the most complicated and high-profile case of my career,”noting Smith’s alleged claims of being the “pimp”and “madam”of YouTube.
The plaintiffs’ attorney emphasized the need for the public to understand the nature of the Piper Squad’s YouTube content. He stated, “It’s crucial to know what these videos depict. These are young individuals, scripted to portray fake romantic relationships and interactions with peers.”

Sarelson continued, “Many of the allegations involve inappropriate language and discussions about my clients’ bodies and sexual experiences—which, considering their ages, are virtually nonexistent.”
On October 10, 2024, the case concluded with a settlement before it reached the courtroom. Smith had initially faced a lawsuit seeking $22 million but ultimately agreed to a settlement of $1.85 million.
Parent Angela Sharron, of a Piper Squad member, remarked that the group’s intention was to raise awareness about potential “predators”within the industry. She stated, “Our aim in pursuing this lawsuit wasn’t to overhaul the industry, but rather to shine a light on the fact that predators can exist in any area. This was about holding accountable those who have harmed our children.”
Despite these controversies, Smith’s daughter remains active on YouTube and TikTok, with a combined following of 25 million. However, Tiffany Smith has not been featured in recent posts.
