TikTok Dancer’s Accusations Against JoJo Siwa’s ‘Choose UR Fighter’ Choreography

JoJo Siwa has been accused of claiming credit for a dance that she did not create. Both her fans and the original TikTok dancer who popularized the choreography have attempted to correct her.

JoJo Siwa, an artist and professional dancer, released her first EP ‘Guilty Pleasure’ in July. Along with the five tracks on her EP, JoJo also choreographed two dances for her popular singles ‘Karma’ and ‘Guilty Pleasure.’

Despite facing numerous criticisms for her supposed lack of dancing skills, the artist remains dedicated to improving and expanding the choreography in her music.

In an August 2024 TikTok post, JoJo shared her “new move”for her song ‘Choose UR Fighter’ with her 45M followers. However, the choreography she claimed as her own was actually the “windmill”dance, which involves standing still and swinging one’s arms in a circular motion.

Despite JoJo’s enthusiasm to share, netizens were swift in pointing out that the dancer was not the original creator of the windmill.

“Someone commented on her post, saying, ‘This move belongs to the queen Emilie Brooklyn.’”

Emilie Brooklyn gained her fame on TikTok through her public dance performances and sharing her videos on the platform, which has earned her half a million followers.

The dance move she is most recognized for? The windmill. After witnessing JoJo attempt to claim ownership of the dance, Emilie posted her own TikTok video in which she publicly criticized the artist.

Emilie wrote on her viral TikTok, “We were the ones who started this trend, but now JoJo Siwa is copying it. It’s interesting that she isn’t giving credit to me and is deleting comments where I am tagged and credited.”

Numerous commenters expressed that Emilie was superior in her dancing skills and commended her for popularizing it.

“You continue to improve every single time!”exclaimed one.

“Another person stated that JoJo Siwa has always been unoriginal and has never produced anything unique during her lifetime.”

“A third person chimed in, reassuringly saying, “You’re the original gangster, don’t worry!”

Although Emilie has clearly expressed her desire for credit for the windmill dance, JoJo has yet to respond. However, given that the singer has previously addressed various viral feuds on her ‘JoJo Siwa Now’ podcast, it is possible that she may choose to use that platform to address this issue in the future.
