Comedian Francis Ellis gained popularity on TikTok when he shared a video of himself devouring a whole rack of ribs at his desk during his lunch break at work.
The video, which was uploaded on July 23, 2024, has amassed over 2.5 million views as of the time of writing. It has caused a buzz online, with many praising this TikToker for his courage and refusal to share his food.
Initially, Ellis began with smaller challenges. He had previously shared a video on TikTok of himself devouring a whole rotisserie chicken in the office. Therefore, it was only natural for him to take on the next challenge of eating a rack of ribs.
Ellis begins the video by zooming in on his face, explaining that he was having a calm day at work and felt motivated to gather the courage to devour a full serving of ribs at his desk. The camera then shifts to reveal the massive piece of meat that makes his MacBook appear tiny.
In the video, the man receives the ribs and explains to viewers that he had to split the rack in half in order to fit it into the toaster-oven at his office for heating.

As soon as he starts devouring the meat with his bare hands and without a napkin in sight, he also begins to drink the barbecue sauce that accompanied the ribs, seemingly unbothered by the possibility of being labeled a “messy eater”by his coworkers.
He does, however, catch the attention of one of his colleagues later in the video. He then proceeds to deceive them by claiming that the rack of ribs was intended for him and that he has no knowledge of its source, all while giving the camera a knowing glance.
While Francis was enjoying his meat feast, another coworker interrupted him to ask if they were supposed to feed the entire office. Francis responded that there wouldn’t be enough to share with everyone. Despite this, he continued to eat his meal.
Commenters are praising Ellis for bravely doing something that many of us are too scared to do: enjoy a messy (yet delicious) lunch at work. One person even went as far as comparing Ellis’s posture while devouring ribs to Gollum on a Monday, showing admiration and respect. Others simply commented with the word “hero.”
Some of his colleagues found his responses hilarious, joking that every plate of ribs could be summed up with the phrase “They just showed up!”and that there was never enough BBQ sauce to go around, evidenced by the sauce slathered all over his mouth.
Despite being intended as a humorous video, it has actually inspired people to break free from social norms in the workplace. People are no longer letting societal conventions restrict them during lunchtime, with one individual stating, “I hope to one day have the bravery to enjoy a rack of ribs in my workplace without any hesitation.”
Not only is this crazy delivery gaining popularity on TikTok, but another individual received a delivery of mac & cheese without the addition of macaroni.
