The family of Joules Smith, affectionately known as the “little dancing queen,” has made a heartfelt request to her supporters: continue dancing in her honor following her tragic death from terminal cancer. At just six years old, Joules passed away on December 9, leaving behind a legacy of inspiration.
Her father, Joe Smith, shared the painful news on TikTok, where Joules had amassed a following of over 290,000 fans. He expressed profound pride in his daughter, stating, “Joules has been an absolute inspiration to everyone. Elisha, her mom, and I take comfort in the knowledge that she inspired and touched the lives of so many people around the world.”
Joe emphasized the importance of continuing to dance for Joules, which was integral in raising awareness for her condition. “Please, if you’re going to do anything, let’s carry on dancing for little Joules, because I know she would still be dancing,” he encouraged supporters.
With her infectious laughter and vibrant spirit, Joules embodied joy for her family, who often referred to her as their “beautiful little dancing queen.”

Tragic Diagnosis: Nine Months to Live
This year took a heartbreaking turn when Joules’ parents sought medical assistance for mild symptoms, only to receive a devastating diagnosis—an inoperable diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG), an aggressive brainstem tumor. As reported, she was given a prognosis of just nine months in May.
Determined to make the most of every moment, Joules and her father, Joe, shared their love for dance on social media. They even initiated a movement to raise awareness about her cancer, inspiring countless TikTok users to join in.
Throughout this journey, the family has also garnered significant support, raising nearly $100,000 through a GoFundMe campaign set up by a family friend.

Joules’ passing has left a profound impact on those who followed her journey. Many supporters took to social media to express their condolences and their commitment to keep her spirit alive through dance. “I am so sorry! I can’t believe what you must be going through right now. We will continue dancing for Joules always,” one follower shared in their grief.
A second supporter added, “You have been amazing, Joe. Courageous and inspiring… not only have you been incredible parents, but you’ve also raised awareness in the process. You’ve made her so proud.”
Joules’ story is a reminder of the fragility of life. In July, another young TikTok star, Bella Brave, passed away from complications related to a lung infection, further underlining the importance of cherishing every moment.
