TikTok Star’s Bunny Kidnapped After Breeder’s House Break-In

TikTok sensation Potato the Bunny was taken by force when intruders entered the breeder’s residence, but was fortunately reunited with its owner only four days later due to their desperate plea for its safe return.

Potato the Bunny, a popular TikTok star, was sadly abducted on Friday, August 16th after burglars broke into his breeder Anna Neven’s residence. The theft took place in Hamilton, Ontario, where Sinclair Rabbitry, the home of Potato and his owner, is situated.

Anna uploaded a TikTok video pleading for the return of her bunny, stating that they have photos of the people responsible from their cameras and will be submitting them to the police. She offered to cancel the police submission if the person responsible brings the bunny back, even if they leave it on her porch.

Anna clarified, “I’m not sure if you intended to take the bunny featured on my website, but you ended up with the wrong one. This particular bunny holds a special place in my heart. I have raised him since he was a baby and formed a strong bond with him.”

Anna knew something was wrong when her bunny didn’t greet her on Friday, August 16.

Potato the Bunny’s breeder could tell he was missing when she came home and he didn’t come out to greet her like he usually did.

According to Anna, every time she is in the vicinity, he always comes up to her and craves attention. She has never witnessed him hiding before, making his sudden disappearance even more apparent. She was certain he was missing because of their strong bond.

Luckily, Anna was reunited with Potato the Bunny just four days after he was taken. She explained that the father of one of the kidnappers came to her door with the bunny in his arms, apologizing for his child’s actions. She also mentioned that the kidnappers had seen her TikTok plea.

@sinclair.rabbitry POTATO IS BACK HOME!! thank you so so much to everyone who shared my tiktok I posted. If it wasnt for you guys, he wouldnt be home right now. Thank you so so much for bringing my boy home! #potatothebunny #bringpotatohome #findpotato #findpotatogame ♬ original sound – Bigteddy_73

According to Anna, he was incredibly kind and extremely apologetic. He expressed his remorse and explained that his daughter’s behavior was out of character for her.

Even after he was returned, Anna still harbored doubts about why her precious bunny had been taken. “Potato has gained popularity on TikTok and has been featured in some viral videos, so it’s possible that people could have recognized him. However, I’m not sure if he was specifically targeted or if the kidnappers simply wanted any bunny,”she explained.

The authorities are currently investigating the robbery. Nevertheless, Anna is simply grateful that her rabbit has been returned home safely.

Despite Potato the Bunny’s viral success on TikTok, he is not the only animal to have gained popularity on the platform. Howie the crab, who has been well taken care of in his home, has also amassed nearly 1M followers thanks to his owner’s silly videos of him wearing hats.
