TikTok Stars Matt and Abby Criticized for Leaving Young Children Unattended on Cruise

TikTok influencers Matt and Abby Howard are facing significant criticism for leaving their young sons unattended in a cabin during a family cruise.

The couple, who are popular figures on TikTok, have sparked outrage for stepping out for dinner while their two-year-old and 12-month-old boys were left alone in a room.

“We took them on a 5-night cruise, and it became clear they weren’t enjoying it, which affected our experience too,” Abby revealed on her Instagram story.

She added: “So, we adjusted our dinner time to align with their bedtime and used FaceTime to monitor them while we ate. This arrangement worked much better for everyone involved!”

According to Abby, the baby monitors were ineffective on the cruise ship, only functioning when parents were within “10 feet” of the device.

Despite finding a workaround to keep an eye on their toddlers during their dinner outing, the couple encountered a flood of criticism on social media.

“Great, let’s FaceTime a baby monitor to watch something bad happen and be powerless to intervene. And then, let’s broadcast it to the world,” one angry commenter wrote.

Another user questioned their judgment: “What if the ship flooded? What if there was a fire? Are you for real?! Ughhh!”

A third critic expressed disbelief: “HOW do they think this is safe and acceptable?!? And to share it online, knowing the reaction it would provoke, just to boost their engagement?”

Prior to this controversy, Abby had posted numerous stories and photos about their trip to her 1.3 million Instagram followers, but all those posts have since been deleted.

As of now, neither Matt nor Abby has publicly addressed the backlash. We will keep you updated should they respond.
