TikTok Users Heartbroken as 2L Soda Dad Ends Beloved Halloween Tradition

Despite his daughter’s efforts to continue the cherished tradition, TikTok’s 2L Soda Dad will not be distributing large bottles of soda this Halloween.

For several years, TikToker April Walton and her family have delighted trick-or-treaters with this unique Halloween custom that has gained widespread acclaim online.

Every Halloween, April and her father, famously known as the ‘2L Soda Dad,’ would hand out two-liter bottles of popular sodas such as Pepsi, Coca-Cola, Sunkist, and Root Beer.

Trick-or-treaters visiting their home were thrilled as 2L Soda Dad launched the bottled drinks down a makeshift slide from atop their mid-level deck.

However, on September 9th, April announced that her father would not be participating in the Halloween tradition this year.

“This tradition I started with my dad has been a treasured childhood memory for me, shared by many kids who enjoyed a 2L treat from The Waltons,” April expressed on TikTok.

“It has become larger than life, and although we have cherished the silliness of it all, we simply lack the support to manage an effective and enjoyable trick-or-treat experience with our small circle of family and friends.”

Many followers of April and 2L Soda Dad expressed their disappointment over the end of this nine-year tradition. Some even suggested tagging beverage companies in the comments, hoping for sponsorship in terms of labor and delivery.

April later mentioned that she had reached out to Coca-Cola multiple times in an effort to get sponsorship for their Halloween giveaways but had not succeeded.

“I’ve been trying so hard for years, but I haven’t had any luck. We still had to do all the work ourselves,” she shared.

Even though 2L Soda Dad won’t be handing out their famous two-liters this Halloween, April remains open to the possibility of distributing snack-sized candies. Additionally, the duo may introduce an innovative costume, as Chipotle has just launched a collection of menu-inspired outfits.
