Danaesha quickly resonated with the mother who had to decide whether to buy the purse for herself or opt for baby essentials, as the stylish accessory was adjacent to baby lotion.
She promptly took to TikTok to share the poignant moment, which sparked the ‘she deserved the purse’ trend.
This heartfelt video soon amassed over 20 million views, with many TikTok users expressing how the mother’s selflessness brought tears to their eyes.

Following the video’s viral success, numerous viewers were inspired to give back to struggling moms facing the same challenging ‘this or that’ moment while shopping.
As a result, many individuals began hiding cash and gift cards underneath baby formula lids, within diaper boxes, and anywhere else with an opening.
TikTok user Yolanda Diaz and her loved ones were among those who joined the ‘she deserved the purse’ trend.

In her popular video, she and a friend tucked $20 bills under several baby formula containers. Furthermore, she placed cash inside diaper boxes and between packs of baby wipes on the shelves.

Another TikToker, Lauren Meadows, also participated in the trend. “As soon as I came across the ‘she deserved the purse’ trend, I knew I had to join in,” she expressed.

In her video, Lauren was seen buying a gift card to secretly place it inside a box of diapers for a lucky mother.
“I feel really fortunate to have the opportunity to contribute to this trend. And if you’re unable to do it, that’s perfectly okay,” she shared. “This trend highlights how incredibly selfless moms can be. And if you have the chance today, tell a mom she’s doing an amazing job.”
The ‘she deserved the purse’ trend isn’t the only reason why TikTokers are giving back, either. In June, an Uber Eats driver left a note in a customer’s order explaining that he needed extra funds for his upcoming wedding.
The customer later went on TikTok to share the heartfelt message, leading many social media users to contribute to his Venmo account in honor of his wedding.
