TimTheTatman & DrLupo viewers flock to Twitch as YouTube exclusivity ends

Despite their YouTube exclusivity contracts expiring simultaneously, TimTheTatman, DrLupo, and FaZe Swagg have all returned to streaming on Twitch. This move was welcomed by viewers, as it was found that they preferred watching Tim and Lupo on Twitch, even though they were streaming on both platforms previously.

It is not surprising that these streamers, who began on Twitch and later signed exclusive deals with YouTube, have differing statistics.

For years, these two individuals have been streaming on YouTube, cultivating a loyal fan base and temporarily shifting their focus away from Twitch in search of better opportunities.

Although the two have returned to Twitch, it is evident that viewers have a preference for the platform.

Tim’s audience was fairly evenly divided, with Twitch having a slight advantage at a 60:40 ratio throughout his time streaming on both platforms. Upon returning to the platform where he initially built his following, he quickly gained thousands of Twitch subscribers within minutes.

Despite being one of the top streamers on YouTube, consistently attracting tens of thousands of viewers for major events, TimTheTatman’s viewers still prefer Twitch. However, the preference for Twitch is not a clear-cut victory.

However, when it comes to DrLupo’s viewership, it’s a whole other ball game.

The division between his viewers was significant, as the majority favored Twitch over YouTube. During Lupo’s initial stream on Twitch, the number of Twitch viewers was three to four times higher than that of YouTube viewers.

Furthermore, FaZe Swagg, who is the third streamer to have their YouTube exclusivity contract expire, has decided to completely switch from streaming on YouTube to streaming exclusively on Twitch.

Despite YouTube’s efforts to catch up to Twitch in terms of livestreaming popularity, big-name streamers such as IShowSpeed and Ludwig who remain on the platform have helped maintain Twitch’s lead as the preferred platform for viewers to watch their favorite streamers on.
