In Manor Lords, it is equally important to concentrate on building your own Manor as it is to develop trade routes.
Manor Lords offers players the opportunity to immerse themselves in a stunning Mediaeval world and construct their own flourishing city. As expected, the process of building a town requires a considerable amount of effort, to the point where the game encourages players to expand beyond their walls and establish trade routes with other settlements.
These trade routes serve as a useful means to increase in-game wealth and obtain necessary resources that may be difficult for your city to produce on its own.
Despite Manor Lords’ promotion of setting up trade routes, it can be a challenging task. This is because the game lacks clear instructions on how to establish them.
Creating a trade route in Manor Lords: A step-by-step guide
Trade routes are an important aspect for growing your city in Manor Lords
In Manor Lords, after establishing a Trading post, the game will prompt you to start creating trade routes.
Although the term “trade route”typically suggests the need for a constructed road to establish the route, this is not a requirement in Manor Lords.
To initiate a trade route, click on the trading post and select the trade option from the screen. From there, players can choose to “establish a trade route”located on the right-hand side of the trading post’s trade options.
Manor Lords will provide players with three distinct trade route options to establish.
- Import – keep buying until you reach the set surplus amount
- Export – keep selling until you reach the set surplus amount
- Full trade – trade both ways until you reach the set surplus amount
Creating a Trade Route in Manor Lords
To successfully create a trade route in Manor Lords, players must first have a solid foundation of regional wealth. This means prioritizing the development of their own city before venturing out to establish a trade route.
To successfully establish a trade route, it is recommended to have a regional wealth of approximately 60-70 and a reliable supply of resources, although the exact amount may vary depending on the region.
If obtaining a sufficient amount of regional wealth to establish a Manor Lords Trade Route is a challenge, or if you desire more, you can access the Trade Logistics option in the development tree.
Nonetheless, the Trade Logistics option in the development tree allows players to decrease the cost of trade routes. This results in a maximum of 25 regional wealth being spent on trade routes.
