In Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2, players will encounter several bosses with distinct fight mechanics. One such boss is the Neurothrope, located towards the middle of the campaign. This boss relies on others to do the fighting, as it floats around and launches unpredictable laser beams and projectiles. Dealing with a constant swarm of Tyranids can become overwhelming, but there are strategies to easily defeat this Neurothrope boss in Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2.
How to Defeat the Neurothrope in Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2
As previously stated, the Neurothrope is a Tyranid boss that flies and continuously summons a swarm of enemies to attack your party. To effectively defeat it, you will require a reliable mid to long-range weapon. Although SMGs with high fire rates may be effective, it is recommended to have a more versatile weapon. As for your melee weapon, a sword (such as a Power Sword or Chainsword) would be ideal due to its added cleave radius and decent speed.
If you are playing the campaign alone, you will need to support Gadriel and Chairon as their AI is not particularly effective. They have a slow pace in killing Tyranids, making it difficult to consistently damage the Neurothrope. However, if you become incapacitated, they will immediately come to your aid and help you back up.
When facing Neurothrope’s powerful attacks, be wary of its area-wide damage that can harm all players. Consider moving to the farthest corner and focusing on defeating any additional enemies until the boss ceases its assault. Alternatively, you can position yourself within the green circle and attack the boss directly. Another strategy is to “frame dodge”the attack by swiftly evading it as soon as the wave is about to strike.
In addition, Neurothrope possesses an attack that releases a powerful beam from beneath it, causing significant harm to anyone caught in its path. By avoiding the boss, players can take advantage of this opportunity to attack freely, as long as they prioritize dealing with the swarm.
The boss also launches random projectiles at various targets, but you will be alerted by a red circle notification, giving you time to avoid the incoming heavy attack. It is important to constantly monitor the boss, even while dealing with the swarm.
In addition, there are various spawns scattered around the perimeter of the room, including a healing spawn, grenades, and ammo. These resources will come in handy when the swarm becomes overwhelming. Utilizing your Fury ability will also prove useful in both healing yourself and taking down the Tyranid swarm more quickly, as there is a significant amount of damage being dealt in this battle. Once you have inflicted enough damage on the Neurothrope, it will fall to the ground and you can begin executing it.
