Creating a TikTok Draft

  1. Open TikTok app.
  2. Select the plus icon to access the camera screen.
  3. Use the pink button to record a video or choose a video from your gallery to upload.
  4. Tap the pink tick, then ‘next.’
  5. To save the document as a draft, tap the ‘Drafts’ button located at the bottom left of the screen.

After saving your video, it will be visible in a designated folder located at the top of your profile page.

How to Edit a TikTok Draft

Once you have saved your draft, you will have the ability to go back and make edits or additions to it at any point.

  1. Access your profile page and click on the ‘Drafts’ folder.
  2. To open the draft you wish to edit, simply tap on it.
  3. To make changes to the video, press the back button located at the top left corner and select ‘Continue recording.’ This will allow you to insert new clips, music, filters, and other effects. Once you are satisfied with the edits, click the pink tick to include stickers or captions, or to make adjustments to your clips.
  4. Once again, click on ‘Next’. This will bring you to a page where you can make changes to the video’s privacy settings, hashtags, and cover image.
  5. To revert it back to a draft, click on the ‘Drafts’ button. To publish it on your profile, click on the ‘Post’ button.

How to Download TikTok Drafts to Your Camera Roll

You may discover that after recording a rough version, you wish to retain the footage without necessarily sharing it. Luckily, there is now a convenient way to save drafts directly to your camera roll.

  1. Open your drafts folder, and select the video you want to save.
  2. Select ‘Next’ to proceed to the choices.
  3. Click on the save button located in the upper right corner.
  4. Verify that your video is saved in your camera roll.

Deleting drafts on TikTok

If you keep filming videos without posting them, you may end up with a large collection of drafts that can take up space on your phone. Luckily, removing drafts on TikTok is a straightforward process.

  1. Navigate to the Drafts section located on your profile page.
  2. Click on the ‘Select’ option located in the top right corner.
  3. Choose the videos you wish to remove.
  4. Click on ‘Delete’ located at the bottom of the screen. Then, click on delete once more on the pop-up that appears to confirm the action.

Furthermore, it is important to mention that uninstalling TikTok will result in the deletion of all saved drafts as well.
