Tips for Remaking in Valorant

The remake feature in Valorant is beneficial when a player disconnects and you want to avoid the match, and this is its function in the FPS genre.

In Valorant, it is not uncommon to come across instances where a teammate goes AFK or leaves during the buy phase or even in the first round. It can be frustrating not knowing if they will come back or if they are purposely trying to sabotage the game.

Fortunately, all members of your team have the ability to initiate a “remake call,”which helps to save time and prevent any potential loss of RR.

How to Initiate a Remake Match in Valorant

To start a rematch, just follow the steps outlined if a player randomly disconnects before the first round ends:

  1. During the Buy Phase of the second round, open the in-game chat.
  2. To execute the command, type “/remake” and hit Enter.
  3. A voting prompt will be made available for the rest of the team members.
  4. All four players need to choose the “Yes” option (F5 button) located on the bottom left in order to begin anew.

That’s all there is to it – your ongoing match will be terminated, and you will be required to join the queue for competitive games.

Keep in mind, this feature will not function if you are in a group of 5 players. The departing player must be chosen at random, otherwise you will have to wait for your teammate to return.

Why Should You Remake?

Rebooting in Valorant is primarily done to prevent any potential losses in RR or MMR.

The disconnected player will receive a penalty, while the rest of the team will not suffer any losses. The Remake feature was implemented into the game with the release of patch 1.07 in 2020.

Can you remake on console?

Unfortunately, at this time, remaking on console is not possible.

The option to remake (or forfeit) was deactivated on June 19, 2024 due to a reported bug by players. This was in order to prevent players from experiencing a total loss of control over their game when using the remake feature.

Yet, it was revealed that the feature will make a comeback in Patch 9.02 according to an announcement.
