Tips for Successfully Completing the Prologue in Frostpunk 2

Frostpunk 2 is recognized as an exceptionally demanding real-time strategy game that truly tests your decision-making capabilities. A single poor choice can result in dire repercussions, potentially delaying your progress for hours. While the prologue of Frostpunk 2 serves as an introduction to the game mechanics, it is still quite challenging. To navigate the upcoming chapters, which significantly increase in difficulty, you’ll need all the assistance you can muster. Here’s a guide on how to successfully complete the prologue in Frostpunk 2.

During the prologue of Frostpunk 2, players are introduced to essential resources commonly found in a typical Frostpunk experience. Although future chapters introduce new elements, the focus remains on surviving the severe winter.

Begin by securing Oil to fuel the Dreadnaught’s Furnace, which functions as your generator throughout the prologue. You’ll need to frostbreak your way to the Oil Deposit and establish an Extraction District at that location.

Next, acquire the Materials node in proximity by constructing another Extraction District. Build several Housing Districts around the Dreadnaught’s Furnace to boost your worker and population numbers.

Once these initial tasks are completed, you will receive a new objective aimed at securing a food source for your community. This is where your decisions become critical. Ultimately, you’ll need a sustainable food source, requiring you to navigate north and then circle back south to gather all necessary nodes.

Keep frostbreaking continuously; otherwise, you risk falling behind. The primary goal of the prologue is to endure the Whiteout by accumulating a sufficient food supply. Stockpiling food may initially seem manageable, but time constraints can complicate your efforts.

Additional tasks will arise, such as collecting more Prefabs, but maintaining a consistent food generation should be your focus. Be prepared for emergencies by implementing emergency shifts in your Food Districts. Aim to establish more than three Food Districts and ensure they are set to emergency shifts at all times.

You are required to build two of these Food Districts, which makes acquiring the Prefabs on the western side of the prologue essential, as you will need multiple Food Districts to manage your limited Prefabs effectively. Keep your food reserves sustained, and you should successfully weather the Whiteout.

No Lesser Evil Achievement Guide

In the prologue, there is an achievement known as No Lesser Evil. To attain the No Lesser Evil achievement, you must ensure the survival of the Nomads while preserving the seals and refraining from expelling the elders. Completing these objectives without any sacrifices considerably heightens the difficulty of survival.

The strategies outlined above do not include these particular prompts, as you can achieve the objectives without resorting to sacrificing elders or hunting seals, provided you follow the optimal route. However, those options can simplify the prologue.

For players aiming for the achievement, there’s a helpful strategy to ease the process. A food supply node located south of the Dreadnaught’s Furnace houses a Seal colony. This colony yields more food than other supply nodes, so quickly reach this node by continuously frostbreaking. Once secured, adding one or two Food Districts should make maintaining your food supply far more manageable.
