As you embark on the prologue, you’ll notice multiple objectives listed on the right side of the screen, primarily focusing on basic mechanics like gathering materials, extracting Oil, and activating the Dreadnaught’s Furnace. Ultimately, the main goal is to ensure your city can survive the impending whiteout.

Once you have completed basic tasks, such as establishing Housing and Food Districts, you’ll uncover other optional objectives that are essential for achieving your survival goals.

Merely constructing one or two Food Districts may not suffice for surviving the whiteout, so it’s critical to pursue additional optional objectives that can help you amass more food.

Among the optional objectives are conducting emergency shifts within Food Districts and tightening the belts of the Wanderers. To tighten these belts, select the faction icon located at the bottom of your screen. This action opens the Wanderers faction window where you will find the option to tighten the belts, as illustrated in the image above.

Tightening the belts effectively rations food supplies, leading to Wanderers consuming less food overall. Additionally, players can achieve the No Lesser Evil achievement during the prologue. By consistently utilizing these optional objectives and managing to stockpile enough food to endure the whiteout without sacrificing any elders or seals, you’ll unlock this achievement.

The key strategy involves building a Food District close to the Seal Colony tile, regularly implementing emergency shifts in your Food Districts, and tightening the belts of the Wanderers. By doing this, you should accumulate sufficient food to survive the whiteout without any casualties. It’s advisable to frostbreak the food tiles and the Seal Colony as quickly as possible.
