In 2023, TikTok finally unveiled its highly anticipated auto-scroll feature to millions of users. However, many are still wondering how to activate the hands-free scrolling function.
With TikTok’s increasing popularity in the past few years, scrolling through the dedicated For You Page can easily consume a significant amount of time for social media users.
The app, owned by ByteDance, utilizes your past viewing and interaction history to recommend videos, ensuring that there will always be content that you are likely to be interested in. However, there have been requests to incorporate additional features that will maintain users’ interest even when they are occupied.
There were demands for an auto-play and auto-scroll feature, which had previously only been achieved through ‘hacks’. However, these requests have now been fulfilled.
Steps to activate auto scroll on TikTok
Indeed, the much-anticipated auto-scroll feature on TikTok has finally been released in 2023.
Using it is fairly simple – all you have to do is press and hold on a video as if you were going to repost it, then choose the ‘auto scroll’ button located on the left-hand side. After that, you can sit back and let the videos play automatically.
You can also switch back to manual scroll at any time by following the same steps and choosing ‘manual scroll’ instead of ‘auto scroll.’

- Press the ‘auto scroll’ button on the left side.
