Release Date for Toilet-Bound Hanako-Kun Season 2
The official staff announced at a Special Summer Event in Japan that the highly anticipated second season of Toilet-Bound Hanako-Kun will be released in January 2025. This announcement came as part of the news that the anime will be released for Winter 2025.
“Not only that, but a four-episode sequel to After-School Hanako-Kun will also be available for streaming on October 7th of this year. The sequel will be broadcasted on the TBS channels for a duration of four weeks, beginning on October 7th. Be sure to take a look at the teaser visual and trailers.”

Rumors of numerous mysteries surrounding Kamome Academy have been circulating, with the most peculiar one being the presence of the mischievous ghost, Hanako-kun. By chance, Nene Yashiro, a high school student with a fascination for the occult, becomes bound to him. In doing so, she discovers a secret realm inhabited by supernatural creatures. Together, they must work together to maintain harmony between the students and the supernatural, that is, if they can manage to stay out of mischief.

The first season concluded with Nene’s concern for Kou and Hanako potentially developing jealousy. Meanwhile, Kou was troubled by his connection with Mitsuba. Nene contemplates whether she would have been better off as a supernatural being. The season finale finds Kou facing a difficult decision while Nene finally comes face to face with Hanako.

Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun, a Japanese manga series by Iro Aida, has been serialized in Square Enix’s shōnen manga magazine Monthly G Fantasy since 2014 and is currently comprised of twelve tankōbon volumes. Yen Press holds the license for the series in North America.
Hanako-san, the ghost of a young girl who haunts the school’s bathrooms, is one of the most famous Japanese tales.
Rumors have spread about Kamome Academy’s own version of the legend of Hanako-san. According to the tale, whoever successfully summons her will have their wish granted. Despite the enticing gossip, numerous attempts to summon her have all proven unsuccessful.
Despite Nene Yashiro being a girl hoping for romantic luck, she decides to summon Hanako-san, only to realize that the supposed “girl”is actually a boy.
