For a significant period, One Piece enthusiasts have been fascinated by Kozuki Toki’s Devil Fruit, known as the Toki Toki no Mi, due to its ability to transport individuals into the future. This power proved to be crucial in the Wano arc as it allowed important figures like Kozuki Momonosuke to travel to the future. However, there is a rising belief that Toki’s power holds even greater significance in the overarching narrative.

It has been speculated by certain fans that 800 years ago, Joy Boy may have utilized her abilities to conceal something significant – possibly even the One Piece treasure. This theory could provide an explanation for Gol D. Roger’s statement of arriving “too early”upon reaching Laugh Tale. If the treasure was intended to surface in the future, Roger and his crew were simply ahead of their time, uncovering a mere hint of what was to come instead of the treasure itself.

The One Piece theory argues that Kozuki Toki’s Devil Fruit in the series plays a crucial role beyond just progressing the Wano plot and transporting the samurai and Momonosuke into the future. Some believe that this powerful ability, which can send individuals forward in time, could be a key factor in the upcoming war against the World Government.

The theory posits that Joy Boy, aware of the danger posed by the World Government obtaining certain vital components, may have utilized Toki’s abilities to send a crucial item into the future that would aid the future Joy Boy in his battle against the World Government. This theory also suggests that the One Piece treasure could have been concealed in the past and would only resurface on the final island precisely 800 years later.

In addition, the theory suggests that this could be the reason why Gol D. Roger, after a long and difficult voyage, did not discover anything on Laugh Tale. This could have led him to name the island after potentially coming across a message from Joy Boy apologizing for arriving too soon. This amusing realization may have been the source of the infamous laughter that has been passed down through time.

Kozuki Toki was born into the Amatsuki family of Wano Country during the Void Century, approximately 830 years before the present day. Despite being from a noble family, she was not familiar with her homeland. However, after consuming the Toki Toki no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit, she gained the incredible power to travel forward in time. This enabled her to escape dangerous situations on multiple occasions.

At 26 years old, Toki time-traveled several centuries into the past, arriving 30 years earlier than the current timeline. There, she met Kozuki Oden and stayed by his side for 10 years until his tragic death and her own demise during the destruction of Oden Castle.

As she arrived 30 years prior to the present, she displayed a strong desire to reach Wano and this sentiment stayed with her even after she married Oden. Her husband’s retainers respected her greatly and she remained modest, willingly working alongside the people of Kuri without ever boasting about her position as the daimyo’s wife.

The Toki Toki no Mi bestowed upon Toki the power to propel herself and others into the future, sometimes spanning years or even decades. However, the fruit’s power was limited to only moving forward, preventing her from sending anyone back in time. This ability allowed Toki to escape countless life-threatening scenarios by jumping ahead to a time when the danger had already passed.

Throughout her lifetime, she traveled an incredible 800 years into the future, ultimately arriving in Wano thirty years before the present events. Her last utilization of the Toki Toki no Mi was before her passing, when she used it to send her son, Kozuki Momonosuke, and a group of the Nine Red Scabbards twenty years ahead to protect them from the Beasts Pirates.

Toki’s prediction for Wano filled the Kozuki Family’s supporters and servants with great hope, but also struck fear in Kurozumi Orochi. They understood her prophecy to signify that, in twenty years, nine samurai would seek retribution for Oden’s murder and unseal Wano’s borders.

Ironically, Orochi was the sole individual who took Toki’s words to heart, dedicating the next twenty years of his life to preventing this fate. Despite his efforts, Toki’s prediction ultimately came true when six of the Nine Red Scabbards executed Orochi after he lost the protection of Kaidou. Denjiro delivered the final blow that put an end to the cruel shogun’s reign.

It is possible that Kozuki Toki’s Devil Fruit holds the answer to why Gol D. Roger declared he arrived at Laugh Tale “too soon.”Given the fruit’s power to transport things or individuals into the future, it is likely that the One Piece treasure, or a vital component of it, will only emerge after 800 years.
