Tokyo Game Show 2024: Overwatch 2 and My Hero Academia Collaboration Skins Unveiled

A new collaboration is coming to Overwatch 2, this time featuring the beloved anime My Hero Academia. Below is the complete lineup of skins.

Collaborations in Overwatch 2 have been on the rise, spanning from other games like World of Warcraft to iconic anime series such as One Punch Man and Cowboy Bebop. Blizzard has unveiled yet another partnership with the popular anime My Hero Academia during the Xbox presentation at the Tokyo Game Show 2024.

This exciting crossover was introduced with a brief teaser that showcased skins inspired by the anime’s characters. While My Hero Academia has previously teamed up with games like Fortnite—where skins featured a cel-shaded style—the Overwatch 2 skins have been redesigned using 3D models that enhance the game’s unique art style and bring these iconic characters to life.

Here’s the list of confirmed My Hero Academia characters making their way to Overwatch 2:

  • Tracer – Izuku Midoriya (Deku)
  • Reinhardt – All Might
  • Reaper – Shigaraki Tomura
  • Juno – Ochaco Uraraka
  • Kiriko – Himiko Toga

The Overwatch 2 x My Hero Academia bundle will be available for purchase in-game starting on October 17, 2024. While the exact price of the bundle has yet to be disclosed, it is anticipated to cost around 5,600 Overwatch coins for the full bundle, with individual skins likely priced at approximately 2,500 Overwatch coins each.

Fans have been creating concepts for a My Hero Academia collaboration in Overwatch 2 for a long time, and with its official announcement, excitement is buzzing across social media.

One fan commented: “The skins look really cool but holy hell, this is Rein’s 3rd or 4th collab skin. That guy must be making bank, LMAO. Though, no other hero would fit All Might better.” Another user added: “Not gonna lie, an Overwatch x My Hero Academia collab is pretty cool.”

Currently, the collaboration is confirmed to arrive on Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, and PC platforms for Overwatch 2 players. There’s been no official word yet on whether this crossover will also be available for PlayStation users.
