As a turn-based RPG, *Break The Chains* allows you to assemble a team of four characters to face numerous battles and formidable bosses throughout the campaign. With gacha mechanics in play, you’ll want to take advantage of the game’s promotional free pulls to build a powerful roster, ideally featuring a host of SSR (Super Super Rare) characters.

Fortunately, the game’s launch includes exciting live events that provide ample opportunities for free pulls. In just my first few hours of play, I managed to acquire over six SSR characters without spending a dime. By regularly engaging with the game, you can amass dozens more pulls swiftly.

Effective gameplay in *Tokyo Ghoul Break The Chains* relies on creating a team with both synergy and diversity. While many characters hold value, balancing your squad will be crucial as you delve deeper into the character dynamics and synergies available. Here’s an example of a well-rounded team composition:

To construct a balanced team, include both single-target and multi-target damage dealers. A powerhouse combination like Rize Kamishiro and Noro proves effective. Rize excels in dealing significant single-target damage while simultaneously healing herself. In contrast, Noro can unleash devastating attacks on all enemies and amplify damage output against foes with above 70% health. Furthermore, Noro possesses abilities to mitigate damage and counterattack following significant hits.

For the remaining slots, it’s essential to incorporate a tank and a support character. A solid support choice like Hinami Fueguchi not only deals damage but also heals teammates, providing a passive healing effect at the end of your turn. Meanwhile, Iwao Kuroiwa, as a tank, can draw enemy attacks towards himself, using his provoke ability while gaining a shield equal to 8% of his maximum health during provocation.

Your team composition also allows for a backup character slot, where certain characters may grant effective passive skills to enhance your team’s performance, even if they are not on the battlefield. Characters like Naki are well-suited for this role, restoring a portion of health to damaged allies at the start of your turn.
