Tokyo Ghoul EX: Sui Ishida Unveils Special Art and Venue Details

The upcoming exhibition, Tokyo Ghoul EX, will feature visitors receiving exclusive illustrations crafted by renowned manga creator Sui Ishida.

Initially announced in July 2024, Tokyo Ghoul EX has gradually revealed more details, including the exhibition’s opening and closing dates in both Tokyo and Osaka. Ticket information for the Tokyo event was shared early on, but fans were eagerly awaiting updates for the Osaka venue. Fortunately, Sony Music Solutions has recently provided essential details about the exhibition and the Osaka leg.

On September 20, 2024, Sony Music Solutions unveiled exciting updates about Tokyo Ghoul EX. As part of the exhibition, attendees will receive a unique giveaway illustration created by Sui Ishida. The anime also revealed the illustrations, showcasing two distinct artworks for each venue.

Visitors at the Tokyo venue will be gifted a mini shikishi board depicting Ken Kaneki in his Anteiku uniform, while those attending the Osaka event will receive artwork of Ken Kaneki with white hair, post his battle against Yamori. This ensures that each illustration is exclusive to its respective location.

The Tokyo exhibition is scheduled from Monday, October 21 to Sunday, December 1, at the Warehouse TERRADA G1 Building. In contrast, the Osaka exhibition will run from Saturday, December 14 to Sunday, December 29, at VS. (at Grand Green Osaka).

In addition to the previously announced Tokyo ticket details, the Osaka venue will offer tickets for sale starting Saturday, September 21, at 10 AM JST.

There are three types of tickets available for the exhibition:

  • Ticket including Exclusive Made-to-Order Goods: Grants access along with an original illustration pin set (numbered) and an acrylic diorama featuring key visuals.
  • Ticket including Exclusive Goods: Includes an acrylic diorama of key visuals.
  • Admission Ticket: Provides access to the venue only.

Ticket prices are set at 12,000 yen, 5,800 yen, and 3,300 yen, respectively.

Moreover, Tokyo Ghoul EX will feature a “First Come, First Served”Visitor Giveaway, offering attendees the chance to win a uniquely designed limited version package artwork that includes four lenticular cards, each displaying a different image based on the viewing angle.

Among the key highlights of the exhibition will be the Kaneki vs. Yamori Immersive Theater. This theater will utilize a blend of captivating visuals and haptic technology, which creates floor vibrations to enhance the sensory experience by perfectly recreating the thrilling scene from the anime.

Additionally, the exhibition will showcase the production process behind Ken Kaneki’s mask, allowing fans to witness the entire developmental journey at the venues. Sony Music Solutions has also announced an array of merchandise that attendees can purchase during Tokyo Ghoul EX, featuring a wide selection of original items designed by Kazuhiro Miwa (Tokyo Ghoul character designer) and Atsuko Nakajima (Tokyo Ghoul:re character designer).
