Tokyo Revengers Sequel Confirmed Alongside Mini Fairy Tale Anime

The highly acclaimed sci-fi action thriller anime Tokyo Revengers is set to make a highly-anticipated comeback with a sequel. This exciting announcement was made at a special event held on June 16, 2024, coinciding with the fourth anniversary of the anime’s adaptation. To add to the anticipation, a promotional trailer recapping the thrilling events of the past seasons was also released on YouTube.

The anime’s official Twitter account confirmed that a sequel for Tokyo Revengers will be released. Although the exact format of the sequel, whether it will be a movie or a fourth TV season, has not been confirmed, the announcement was initially made at the Matsudo Touring event, which commemorated the anime’s fourth anniversary and brought back nostalgic memories for dedicated viewers.

The second installment of Tokyo Revengers is a clear indication of the manga’s triumph as it has spawned three seasons. The initial season premiered in 2020, with subsequent seasons following in the following years. The manga, written and illustrated solely by Ken Wakui, is the original source material.

Fairy Tale Revengers Anime Series Also Announced

To celebrate its fourth anniversary in 2025, the company has planned a special project that will offer a one-of-a-kind experience for fans. Titled ‘Dachi Live,’ the project will showcase the stars of Tokyo Revengers, such as Yuki Shin (known for his role as Natsuo in My Hero Academia) as Takemichi, and Yu Hayashi (famous for his role as Tanaka in Haikyu!!) as Mikey. In addition, the announcement of a new mini-anime series, Fairy Tale Revengers, has also been made, which will merge Tokyo Revengers with well-loved Japanese fairy tales.
