Tom Holland has officially announced the start of production for Spider-Man 4, hinting that the upcoming installment promises to be “crazy” and “unlike anything” audiences have witnessed thus far.
As fans eagerly await a release date for Spider-Man 4, speculations abound. This new chapter is expected to be a street-level narrative combined with multiversal elements featuring possible appearances from Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, Daredevil (played by Charlie Cox), and Kingpin (portrayed by Vincent D’Onofrio).
There are also rumors suggesting that Sydney Sweeney might portray Black Cat, with Knull from Venom 3 potentially filling the role of the antagonist. Additionally, speculation surrounds Spider-Man acquiring the symbiote suit.
However, it remains to be seen if any of these theories hold water. So far, Holland has been tight-lipped regarding details about Spider-Man 4, only confirming that filming is set to start in the summer of 2025 and that the concept is indeed “crazy.”

During an appearance on Good Morning America, he mentioned, “All I can confirm is that it’s definitely happening. We’re incredibly close to having a creative direction that I believe is worthy of the fans. Now, we feel assured that this idea is robust enough for us to proceed with filming next summer.”
He added, “The idea is absolutely wild. It takes a slightly different approach from our past work, but I genuinely believe the fans are going to love it.”
Spider-Man: No Way Home was not only a standout within the MCU but also ranks among the highest-grossing films globally, even surpassing Avatar’s record in the U.S.

This film also significantly altered the narrative landscape for Holland’s portrayal of Peter Parker. With MJ (played by Zendaya) unaware of his identity, the death of Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), and Peter now navigating life on his own, swinging through the streets of New York as he embraces his role as a friendly neighborhood hero.
Zendaya is set to reprise her role in this Marvel sequel, with Holland mentioning that they recently reviewed a draft of the script together.
“There’s some refining needed, but the writers are making great strides,” he shared on the Rich Roll Podcast. “I read it a few weeks ago, and it sparked a real excitement in me. Zendaya and I went over it, and we found ourselves so thrilled, saying, ‘This feels like a genuine film that fans will appreciate.’ We still have a few challenges to overcome before moving forward, but it’s an exhilarating process.”
